Is the C-Class automatic OK?

I would really like your honest opinion on the following vehicle as I am thinking of buying it this week.

The car in question is a Mercedes Benz CGI blue efficiency sport edition 125.
It is an automatic-tiptronic car with the petrol engine 1796 cc and has done 11,000 miles and is on a 61 plate.

It has every extra you can think of on the car including sat nav, panoramic roof, parking sensors front and back, bi-xenon headlights and is up for sale at £21,995 in a main dealership.

I am a bit worried about the automatic gearbox as I have always driven manuals.
Are they reliable or dangerous?

I have driven the car and it felt lovely to drive and was stunning but I am a bit of a worrier so I would value an impartial opinion in the vehicle!

Standard torque converter auto, but best to learn to left foot brake for safety in confined places.
