Brought a car and now it's off the road due to subframe failure

We brought the car roughly six months ago, and from day one, we complained about a knocking noise in the engine. The garage we brought the car from changed lots of parts but still the noise remained.

We also went to different garages to try and fix the problem. Eventually if turns out the subframe needs replacing. Renault has quoted us £1400 (half labour charges). Do I have any comeback with the garage we brought the car from?
