Which first car?

I am about to do my driving test and hopefully will pass this time round. I am a mum of 3 (7, 5 & 3months). I need a cheap reliable run around with a budget of £2-3k. My husband says I should buy a Ford Fusion because it has loads of space. I would like a Toyota Yaris because of its low running costs and size being new to driving. Which car should I get?
