Zafira with 1.4T vs 1.8i (And an air con query)

1) Is the 1.4T Zafira engine likely to be more troublesome than the Zafira 1.8i engine?.Can the 1.4T cope with the Welsh hills?

2) My present W reg Vectra 1.8i with 90k miles seems to 'hunt' when moving off when engine cold with air con on - a bit like driving using 'kangaroo' petrol. The idling speed is 900 rpm. Is this normal?

The 1.4T is much better. Just remember to idle the engine for 30 seconds to a minute before switching off if your destination is at the top of a hill. Re: Vectra - your a/c pump is starting to require more power than the engine can supply at a normal idle.
