Citroen C4 - which engine?

I'm considering buying a new Citroen C4 2012 with a manual transmission. The dealership only has a 92 hp/230 torque model in-house to test-drive but can order a model with 110 hp/270 torque if desired.

Since I won't be able to test-drive the 110 hp version and am hesitant to buy a car blindly, I'm wondering: Is there any real difference between the 92 hp and 110 hp models other than the obvious price difference?

For instance, is the gearing different, and do you know if the increase in hp and torque make much of a difference in a car of that weight?

The 1.6 diesel engine has now been revised and has 8 valves instead of 16 and has become more reliable. I had a brilliant 12 months and 11.000 miles from a Mazda 5 with the 115PS output of this engine. Can't comment on the latest version of the low power 1.6 diesel because I have never driven it. Obviously, when buying a Citroen, completely forget the 'list price' and only pay what the car is worth.
