Help me in choosing my first new car. Needs to be low co2, powerful, smooth and economic
I am looking to buy my first car. After researching a lot, I've short listed these cars, as I am only interested in diesel hatchbacks:
VW Golf Mk VI 1.6TDI Bluemotion
Toyota Prius hybrid
Skoda Octavia 1.6TDI Greenline II hatchback
SEAT Leon Ecomotive 1.6 diesel
Ford Focus ECOnetic 1.6
These are my requirements:
Less than 99g/km co2 emission to avoid London congestion charge, at least 110mph max speed, as occasionally I want to use for long trips so want that speed for motorways. Smooth and comfy ride.
I will be commuting 60-70miles every day so really like it to be a nice ride without hurting my back.
Good boot space preferably foldable rear seats.

A Toyota Auris HSD is cheaper than a Prius and works better. Actually preferable on 17" wheels rather than 15".

Decent combination of ride and handling that might suit some people better than a harder sprung Golf or a Civic. A few inches taller than a Golf of Focus so easier to get in and out.
Comfortable and quiet on the move, enjoyable to drive. Nicely trimmed with great attention to detail. 1.4 TSI sweeter to drive than a diesel.
