bought and paid for a new car and now find I am second registered keeper - should I ask for refund

I bought a new car from the forecourt of my local reputable dealer. After 3 months I am still chasing for the registration certificate. I have contacted DVLA and they tell me the car is already registered to someone else. The dealer admits they have made a mistake and are reregistering. Am I entitled to the new car I ordered or at least a refund as I am the second keeper on the registration certificate?

This reads suspiciously like the dealer has bought the car in either on a fleet discount or as a demonstrator. If he has not, in turn, given you the benefit of this increased discount then you are entitled to either return the car and demand your money back, or to demand your share of this substantial discount. Without being registered in your name the car is "not of satisfactory quality", is probably not insured and is not "your" car.
