Twoly shafted

I am a Scenic auto driver looking to exchange a 2-litre petrol for a new Scenic. My Renault dealer is strongly advocating I go for the EDC 1.5 auto diesel, for which he says there is no particulate problem for low mileage drivers. He also says 60 mpg is achievable plus low car tax. Only drawback he points out is that it does not hold on hills. I could be tempted other than for the latter point. However he says this car is the most popular version of the Scenic for new orders. Any views would be most welcome

I've driven it and I can tell you that this twin shaft, twin clutch transmission works very smoothly. Obviously you overcome roll back on hills by left foot braking.
