Which German offroader?

I am from Pakistan.I am a regular vistor of your website and a great admirer of your expertise regarding cars.

I am using Misubishi Lancer 1996 1.5, but now I am looking for a car to carry me, my wife and 4 year old son in hilly areas. I want to have a 4x4 off road vehicle.

I personally prefer German made brands such as Audi or BMW. Volkswagen is not available in my country, so which offroader do you suggest? Is there any German brand for real time off road ?

My other option in Pajero 1998 3.5. I hate diesel engine smoke and noise and prefer petrol.

No German off road 4x4 is as capable off road as a Pajero or a Land Cruiser, or even as a Hyundai Santa Fe or KIA Sorento, though the latter are diesel only.
