Blue about colour choices.

I am currently in the process of buying a new car.

I note with some amazement that several manufacturers only offer one base (non-metallic) paint colour.

This really means that the RRP is not the RRP as almost everyone is going to have to fork out another £500 for the metallic paint option. This also leads to delivery delays as it is most unlikely that the colour wanted will be readily available.

I am sure that the manufacturers will have a "convincing" reason for this but it is plainly nothing other than a money making deception to add to the many that face the purchaser of a new car. When will they realise that price transparency will increase sales? Mazda and Ford are particular culprits.

Every colour as well as metallic is optional extra for a FIAT 500, except for Bossa Nova While. Guess which colour I went for? No delay, as I ordered a car already scheduled for build.
