How do I change ownership on a leased car?

My vehicle is privately leased. What do I need to do with the DVLA if I wish to change ownership from company to personal? And what about the insurance company?

If the car is on a lease then the V5C logbook should be registered to the finance company that owns the vehicle. You cannot change the V5C registration document until you buy the car at the end of the agreement.

Take note, if the car is on a Personal Contract Hire (PCH) and Business Contract Hire (BCH), you will not get the option to purchase the car at the end of the lease.
