For whom the bells toll
Yesterday was a very sad day, when we were told that the end was in sight for our trusty old Volvo 240 estate, which has done 344,000 miles and which we have owned for 16years. If the model was still made, we would have another like a shot (we have driven 240 estates for 24 years). We need to find an estate that can carry heavy handbell equipment - so it needs to have: 1. A flat loading area - the same size as the 240 with seats up, and able to carry equipment that measures 32" from front to back, and 49" across. 2. At the same time as carrying bells, to be able to transport 4-people. 3. We would be quite happy with a second-hand car, as then we could stick with our excellent Volvo mechanic. (He will service other makes.) We need the car to be reliable, safe and to last for at least 5 years. It doesn't need to be electric everything. I hope you might have an idea or two.

The Renault Kangoo Maxi would do the job when it arrives in June:
