Hit or Niss?

I own a 2001 Nissan Micra 1.4SE (Mr Blobby body shape) and prior to this owned a 1996 Micra 1.3GX from new. I have been very happy with both cars, and am now looking for a replacement. I am looking for a similar small car, with reasonable power, good visibility, and comfort. I am retired, and drive about 6,000 miles a year. The problem I find is that cars generally seem to get ever bigger (especially wider), and often have poor visibility, especially at the rear, with small back windows, and thick columns between the rear side windows and back window. I would not relish reversing in many of these cars. I would welcome any suggestions you can offer.

The best small car is the Hyundai i10 1.2 and it seems that the supply
situation is getting better, though you would still face a 3-month wait
for one.
