Skoda Roomster - female purchaser needs advice

Looking to buy Skoda Roomster auto, 3 spec on oct 2008 plate - model not the facelifted one.

If buying pre-Christmas, does car depreciate from Jan 1st of New years as car, for example, becomes closer to 3 years old than 2?

Ditto with non facelift - does this cause depreciation?

I'm inexperienced in negotiation process and want to have as many tools to get good price as poss, have trade in worth 2K - roomster advertised at £8795 - 16+K miles what's best likely price I can hope for and any advice for negotiating pls?

Cars usually rise in transaction value from December to January, so cheaper to buy in December. You did not describe the car adequately for me to tell you if the price is right, but £8,795 reads like a lot for any 2 year old Roomster.
