astra 1.7 cdti life

The problem I have is when I turn a corner the CD goes to radio and when I turn the heater fan on after a while the dash lights and radio go off, what can be making this happen? It has left standing for a while, but never had a problem before that.

Moisture in the wiring behind the dash, or failed insulation and cables rubbing together.
