London Classic Car Show to honour designer Ian Callum 28 Nov 2018 (News)
This will feature some of the most notable and cars that he has designed, including the Aston Martin DB9, Jaguar I-PACE, F-TYPE and XK and the Ford RS200 rally car. There will also be a Q&A with the man himself at the show. Talking about the exhibition and receiving the Icon Award, Callum said he was honoured to chosen for the award. -
Two Stingray Corvettes and one C1 in Historics 22nd September Auction. 2 Sep 2018 (News)
Competing against the Corvettes in the 1950s, this 1956 Ford Thunderbird automatic was recently imported from the US and a V5C application is currently being processed by the DVLA that should be completed prior to the auction. The green on green interior looks original and the chrome is good, though the exterior paint could do with some work. -
'Built to last' to be theme of this year's NEC show 7 Jun 2018 (News)
As well as honouring the military and service personnel, the theme also affords itself to celebrating those marques that have also reached huge milestones such as 130 years of Rover, 120 years of Renault, and 110 years of the Ford Model T. There are also those vehicles that have been ‘built to last’ so that they can be passed down from generation to generation, undertake epic journeys and challenges, and even remain on the roads to this day – some with their original drivers. -
Motorsport event returns to Crystal Palace 18 Aug 2017 (News)
The show field will house hundreds of classic cars and bikes as more than 20 clubs and their members display their pride and joys including the Crystal Palace Street and Sprint Car Club, Morris Minor Owners’ Club, Fords the Only Way, Stag Owners’ Club, and Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club. Visitors can enjoy live music from vintage singer Jess De Guidici and get on their dancing shoes for the Rock-ola-Rockets, a four-piece authentic rockabilly band that perform 1950s hits from the likes of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and many more. -
Fuel price round-up 12 Jun 2017 (News)
The reduction in the cost of petrol means that the driver of an average family car - like the Ford Focus - with a 55-litre tank can now fill up for £63.91, a saving of £2.20 since February this year. The average price of diesel is also down by 1.7 per cent, to 117.3p-per-litre. -

A Grand Monday: Vauxhall Vectra 28 Nov 2016 (News)
For a few quid short of a grand (and we reckon there's room to haggle) this is one of those cars that, if you buy now, will be something of a curio in the really quite near future. If you look at the sudden surge in interest in models such as the Ford Sierra, Rover 800 and Vauxhall's own Cavalier in the past couple of years, buying this now could well be perfect timing. And despite what Clarkson said, they're not that bad. No, really - they're not. -
NEC Classic Motor Show 2016: Pride of ownership finalists revealed 7 Nov 2016 (News)
One of the finalists is Jonathan Smith's milk float. Daily driver classics also made the grade with a 1969 Ford Capri Mk1, 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle, 1989 Austin Metro City, 1984 Vauxhall Astra Mk1 GTE, and 1983 Volkswagen Golf Driver 1.3 taking up the challenge. A 1967 E-Type Jaguar 4.2 Roadster and a 1963 Austin-Healey are also included along with a freshly restored 1973 Jensen Interceptor, a 1978 Lancia Beta 1600 Coupe, 1976 Citroen Ami Super, and the youngest car on display – a 1996 Lotus Esprit. -

Classic car insurance broker launches ‘future classic’ investment guide 27 Nov 2015 (News)
In 2005, Carole Nash worked with Richard Hammond (formerly of Top Gear) for an article that identified a number of future classics, including the Porsche 911GT3, and even the humble Ford Ka. Building on Hammond's suggestions, Carole Nash has sought additional guidance from the founder of Historic Automobile Group International (HAGI), Dietrich Hatlapa. A Carole Nash spokesman said, 'HAGI is an industry-standard monitor of the classic car sector, using the same financial methodology applied to investments in gold and property to provide transparency for the rapidly-growing and fast-moving market. -
New economical Volkswagen Caddy unveiled 5 Feb 2015 (News)
. The fourth-generation Caddy is based on a heavily revised version of the current Caddy platform, with a number of improvements to bring it into line with its chief rival, the Ford Transit Connect . The Caddy's payload has also been upgraded by 66kg, which means the van now has a maximum payload of 832kg. There has been some notable improvements to the engine range; the Caddy will now be powered by a new 2.0-litre engine, with stop/start technology fitted as standard. -

The UK list price of the Sunbeam Lotus in 1980 was £7205, making it considerably dearer than the £4995 Ford Escort RS2000 and £5577 Vauxhall Chevette 2300HS. This left-hand drive ‘time warp’ Sunbeam was discovered by its current owner as part of a large private collection in Italy. -
'Agreed Value' Classics Often Under-Insured 26 Jun 2014 (News)
With investors shunning low interest savings in favour of classic vehicles, including early Land Rovers, 1950s to 70s Aston Martins and pre 1980s Ford Escorts, values have increased considerably. It is estimated that the average value of classic cars has risen by more than 250% between 2005 and mid-2013. So classic car insurer Carole Nash's Cherished Cars is advising owners to check the value of their assets and re-insure as necessary. -

The A ustin Montego - along with its Maestro hatchback cousin - was BL's last chance at volume success. After years of unexceptional sales, where BL found itself overtaken first by Ford, then Vauxhall, the mid-sized repmobile represented its maker's answer to the Sierra and Cavalier. History has already recorded that it missed its target, not even matching sales of the Marina and Ital, but eventually suffering the indignity of being outsold by its supposed niche bedfellow, the Rover 200. New Supertouring series headlines at the Silverstone Classic 24 Feb 2014 (News)
The Silverstone Classic (25-27 July) has already established itself as a major force behind the Super Touring revival in the UK, which has seen a mixed grid of cars as diverse as the Ford Sierra RS Cosworths from the 1980s battling it out against the high-tech racers from the 1990s. And as a result, the races are now going nationwide. The HSCC Super Touring Championship kicks off at Thruxton at Easter, with the Silverstone Classic being the jewel in the crown of this new five-event calendar. -
Vintage Adventurer sets new trans-USA record 9 Dec 2013 (News)
The journey from New York to Los Angeles in 50 hours, 20 minutes and 6 seconds. Australians Rod and Michael began the 3000 miles journey in their 1930 Ford Model A at Staten Island at 00.01 on 22 November with the aim of reaching Venice Fishing Pier in around 60 hours, giving an estimated arrival time the following Sunday morning. Despite horrendous weather conditions including rain storms, extreme winds and snow through New Mexico, the driving duo arrived much sooner than expected, reaching Venice Fishing Pier, Venice Beach, just after 11.15pm on Saturday evening. -

Offering traditional be-finned drop-top cruising – and ideal to run out to the Norfolk seaside after the sale – is a 1962 Ford Zodiac convertible, which has been fully restored and is estimated at £19,000-26,000. A nice Volvo 164 models offer the chance of some more sensible classic motoring, with a metallic gold, the two-owner 1972 example being offered for a very tempting £1200-1800.
