Thule Approach M roof tent (productReview)
That's where a roof tent comes in. As the name suggests, they're portable tents that you mount onto your car's roof bars. Once you're at your camping location their foldable design means that they open up to reveal an erected tent with access via a set of telescopic ladders. No faffing about with poles or guide ropes, while packing away promises to be just as easy, with the tent folding in on itself before the cover is zipped up and you can drive off. -
Review: RAC Advanced Mesh Dog Guard (productReview)
width=500&height=333.33333333333337" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/20df80a2273b4755b09e5eb5b8936b49" /> Should I buy one? The RAC Dog Guard is easy to install and does indeed fit many different cars. It's ideal if needing to use in more than one car, or for occasional use. Plus it's lightweight, easy to install and doesn’t take up much room if stored. There are cheaper universal guards on the market, but the RAC is more adaptable and a better fit for the three cars we tested it in. -
Miele Duoflex HX1 CarCare vacuum (productReview)
Away from the car and you'll probably swap to the MultiFloor electrobrush to cover larger surfaces. It really is a clever bit of kit, quickly and automatically adjusting its suction response from a hard floor to a rug and back again. -

Review: Mio MiVue 658 WiFi dash camera (productReview)
A little bit fiddly to start with as you cannot attach the power lead without first removing the rear-plastic cover. Our test camera's cover was very reluctant to come off - in fact, it had to be prised off with a screwdriver. We were very close to sending it back as we assumed the cover was faulty and jammed shut, but once it had been removed once it became much easier. -
Review: Nuna MYTI (productReview)
What is it? Nuna's car seat range isn't the biggest but that does mean it's very easy to understand. The MYTI is its Group 1/2/3 car seat that's suitable for children from 9kg right up to 36kg. That's approximately 9 months up to 12 years, so while it's not cheap at £275, it is an investment that will last you until your not so little one doesn't need a car seat any longer. -
Review: Joie i-Level (productReview)
It’s also great at doing the basics, as it is very easy to fit, simple to carry and has an excellent cover. The only thing we’d like to improve is the strap adjustment system and the slightly fiddly buckle. Other than that, it is a fantastic seat that will provide reassurance in and out of the car for the first year or so of a child’s life. -
Review: Disklok steering lock (productReview)
width=500&height=332.9166666666667" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/2a0c2bad1f4541fc930b198cf4319950" /> Should I buy one? While it's not the most sleek solution to car security - nor the most modern - there's no denying that the Disklok is very effective, especially against opportunist car thieves or joy riders who won't want the hassle and will move onto another car. -
Review: Cybex Sirona S i-Size (productReview)
Tipping the scales at 15kg it's not the kind of seat you want to be moving between cars regularly, unless you're working on your biceps. That said, it's easy to fit. Unlike many other similar car seats, the two Isofix arms move independently of each other. This makes it much easier if you're fitting it into a tight spot, such as the back of a three-door car or coupe. -
Review: Outwell Dreamboat self inflating mattress (productReview)
They're not just reserved for tents either - there's a specific 'Campercar' model that's designed to appeal to the burgeoning car camping scene, with the mattress tapering halfway down to easily fit in cars like the Tesla Model Y and Skoda Enyaq according to Outwell. We're testing the Outwell Dreamboat Campervan that's designed to fit in the likes of the Volkswagen California , Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo and similar. -
Review: Sealey 5W Cree Head Torch with auto sensor (productReview)
Head torches aren’t just for miners, you know. Whether you’re a weekend fettler tucked under a car who needs both hands free, or an avid member of the camping and caravan community, you’ll find this little gadget often comes in handy. Rated at 5w, it might not sound like a lot but it’s more than enough to find your way along a dark path or illuminate the area of a car you’re working on. -
Review: Joie Stages Isofix (productReview)
It makes it much easier to see where you're locating them. Of course, this isn't an issue if you're going to keep the seat in one car, but if you're regularly moving it between cars, it can be a faff, especially in the dark... The Stages feels a sturdy seat though. The cover material is hardwearing and thick plus we like the stitched-in cover that sits behind the seatbelt buckle - it's better than the velcro version on the Joie Spin 360. -
Review: Nextbase 512G dash cam (productReview)
We’ve spent a few weeks using one now and it’s safe to say it delivers precisely what it promises – although on first inspection you might wonder how it captures any footage at all. The lens on the 512G is covered by what looks like black glass – but this is a polarising filter designed to reduce the amount of reflective glare from the windscreen. It can be removed, if needs be, but there isn’t all that much point. -

Review: Travall dog guard (productReview)
Travall is so confident with the guard that they offer a lifetime guarantee against any manufacturing defects, so if anything does go wrong you're covered. One issue is that the guard doesn't cover the entirety of the back seats. My dog is very needy, so when he realised he wouldn't be able to jump over the seats and distract me as usual, he wasn't a happy chappy. -
Review: Cybex Sirona Z i-Size R (productReview)
Choosing a car seat can be a pain. It means visiting every child seat manufacturer — either online or in-store — to see if their seat fits your car and, if it does, whether it goes where you want it to. -
Review: Iceplane ice scraper (productReview)
In all fairness, a little bit of forward planning renders any ice scraper pointless – sitting in the car for five minutes with the engine running will usually clear ice, while windscreen cover will prevent it forming in the first place. Should I buy one? Nobody is perfect. -
Review: Nuna REBL Plus (productReview)
And at close to 16kg this is a hefty seat to fit - that's down to the stronger steel frame used. As before, it's not that the kind of child seat you want to move between cars too often. But it does feel like a high quality seat. So while it's far from cheap at £350 (although that is actually around £50 cheaper than the original Nuna REBL) you don't feel short changed. -
Review: Buyagift Half Day Classic Car Road Trip (productReview)
Book a day off work and spend half of it grandly tootling through the countryside in a selection of classic sports cars. What could be finer? What do you get? Hand over what seems like a modest £99 and in return you get a four-hour road trip, covering a distance of 80 miles and taking in three cars. -
Review: Hovding 2.0 bicycle airbag helmet (productReview)
The collar is made of a waterproof fabric, meaning it can withstand a rainy commute to work. And you can also buy detachable covers to fit over the collar, like the luminescent yellow cover. While it's hard to recommend something that you haven't fully experienced, studies and research about the Hovding give us enough confidence to feel like the Hovding does what it says on the box.
