Grids confirmed for Donington Historic 15 Feb 2017 (News)
Festival organisers are aiming to improve this year’s event with more car clubs and displays for families and fans to enjoy. Additionally, the rally car stage will be returning, along with a new stunt driving arena. First production Mini to star in Queen’s birthday parade 22 Sep 2016 (News)
Designed by Alec Issigonis, the car had its engine installed transversely with the gearbox in the sump and featured front wheel drive. Its price from new was £537 and its top speed was 72mph. The car will be driven in the Parade by Martin Williams, one of the mechanics at the British Motor Museum. The Parade is being organised by the All-Party Parliamentary Motor Group and The All-Party Parliamentary Historic Vehicles Group and promises to the very best of the British motor industry. -
BMW 3.0 CSL set for ‘Cars & Coffee’ meet 28 Jun 2016 (News)
The ex-Toleman E-type from 1974 is a later Series 3, V12-powered Roadster. The UK-based constructor is most noted for giving Ayrton Senna his first F1 drive, and his car will be prominently displayed at next month’s meeting. Acting as a public preview of the main Salon Privé event (which takes place on 1-3 September), 30 classic cars will be on public display in Blenheim’s East Courtyard as part of July’s get-together. -
Two Jaguar E-type restoration projects head to auction 15 Jun 2016 (News)
It carries an estimate of between £25,000 and £30,000. The second E-type ready is a 1966 Jaguar E-type Series 1 4.2 Coupe 2+2. This car represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a really nice example of a rare model, which has obviously been well cared for.’ The ‘High Wing’ was the only model produced by Lotus in 1992 after the final run of the Elan. It sported the Esprit’s most radical wing to date, along with a revised front bib increasing the top speed to 165mph. Only 64 examples were produced making it a model rarely seen on the market today. -

It was a dramatic feat that was turned into the plot of the award-winning movie Rush. Hunt passed away in 1993 at the age of 45, but the legend lives on and the 40th anniversary of his crowning achievement. -

Peugeot aims to have at least one apprentice in each of its dealerships by the end of 2016, in a drive to get more young people into the motor industry. Currently boasting 300 young apprentices in Coventry based PSA Academy, the programme offers training in a number of disciplines including servicing, sales, parts, customer service and administration – not just mechanics-based roles, in other words. -
Duke’s Fiat 500 for sale 10 Mar 2016 (News)
The Duke bought his car in 1939 with a 569L straight-four side-valve engine, with a manual gearbox and in right-hand drive. The car has covered just 1593 miles in 77 years. During the Second World War, the Topolino was transferred to the Duke’s Dublin estate while the Westminster ancestral country estate at Eaton Hall in Cheshire was used as a hospital. -

Champions to headline Autosport 11 Jan 2016 (News)
Petter Solberg, two-time World Rallycross champion and former WRC Champion, will be taking to the Live Action Arena to show off his incredible driving skills on the UK’s largest indoor track. Away from the circuit, Solberg will be giving live interviews on the Autosport Stage, entertaining visitors with his tales of danger and glory. Allan McNish will be on the Autosport Stage with many behind-the-scenes stories from his time in Formula 1 and of course his experiences of winning the 24 hours of Le Mans three times. -
