You can control it via almost any smart device that can run the Sphero apps to play games or just drive it around. But BOLT can go a stage further and can be programmed through the app, using Scratch programming blocks or even direct JavaScript. There are tutorials, a YouTube channel and even community software to help you get to grips with it, and as an educational tool, it has enormous potential. -
ULEZ van checker - Will you have to pay the low emissions charge? (Article)
The ULEZ zone will expand to cover all London boroughs, and cover the same area as the current LEZ, from 29 August 2023. The ULEZ regulations mean that if you drive a van that weighs up to and including 3.5 tonnes, or a minibus that weighs up to and including 5 tonnes, that doesn't comply with the Euro 6 emissions standard you have to pay a £12.50 daily charge on top of the existing £15 Congestion Charge. The ULEZ operates from 00:01 until midnight every day, so if you're caught driving at 00:01 the following day, you'll be subject to paying the charge twice. -
GAP INSURANCE: What is GAP insurance and do I really need it? (FAQs)
A high LTV means that you’re borrowing a high proportion of the car’s new value. Cars depreciate as soon as you drive them off the forecourt, which means you could be in negative equity (where you owe more than the car is worth) for a large proportion of term of the loan and you may have to continue paying this debt if the car is stolen or written off. -

Review: JustPark app (productReview)
Being right next to the Tube station also meant getting around for the day was very easy but we could drive home whenever we wanted without having to fight central London rush hour or get the train home. The app features over 20,000 reservable spaces across the UK, with the majority of these obviously in large cities. -
Review: Airlabs Airbubbl (productReview)
It makes sense to have this end pointing towards the driver so they can turn it on/off if they want to, although this is an awkward manoeuvre to do while driving. The fans start to pump out air in Boost mode, before settling down to Normal mode. You can also change the modes manually. In Boost mode, the ring around the on/off button is red, while in Normal mode it's in green. -
Review: TomTom Go Camper (productReview)
However, we found the signal drop to be a real pain when driving in rural areas. The camper van routes - which are customised to fit the van's size and weight - were mostly fine, but again the Go Camper was prone to the odd bout of confusion as it sent our van down single track B roads that would leave the door mirrors brushing against hedgerows and trees. -

FUEL: What are the benefits of running a vehicle on Superunleaded or Superdiesel? (FAQs)
Emissions testing of all vehicles has forced manufacturers to achieve the best results they possibly can in test laboratories (NEDC, WLTP) and, from September 2019, in Real Driving Conditions (RDE). So manufacturers 'optimise' their engines to give the best possible performance in the tests and, to achieve this, they optimise the engines to run on Super. Engines will still run on lower Octane and lower Cetane fuel, but not as efficiently, not as cleanly and will be more prone to damage from deposits such as olefins and carbon left inside the engines. -
CAR HIRE INSURANCE: What do I need to know about insuring hire cars? (FAQs)
Rick from Toronto helpfully provided us with these useful tips: To help (and warn) when renting in Florida, I don't know how much 3rd party liability coverage is the norm in the UK but in the US it can be as little as $10,000 US (in fact that is the amount in Fla.) and rental companies often take out the legal minimum because they also sell better (more) liability coverage. Considering 1/2 the US spends time suing the other 1/2 for any indiscretion I'd be loath to drive ten feet with that coverage. With a hospital costing $25,000 a day. By way of comparison the coverage I have is $2 Million here and we don't sue a tenth as much plus there are caps on a lot of minor ailments and things that "victims" will try to milk out of insurance. -

Buying and selling a van on eBay (Article)
If you’re meeting a potential buyer at your home, have someone else there with you. Ask to see the buyer's driving licence and insurance certificate, as it is your responsibility to ensure they are covered to drive your vehicle. Sometimes your own insurance policy will allow another driver to use your vehicle with your permission, but check with the policy provider if you are not sure. -
Classic Car Finance explained (Article)
Unlike new car retailers, you won't find many classic car dealers offering fiance deals to encourage you to drive home your dream. There are a few dedicated classic car finance providers. For example, JBR offers finance for cars priced from £25k to more than £10m. So if your tastes are at the more affordable end of the market, then you'll need cash - especially if you're buying privately. -

It gives a great view into a rear-facing child seat and even has a low-light setting, so can be used when driving at night. Top 10: Hondas that aren’t cars (Article)
Honda makes a range of quads with a focus on rugged capability over sportiness. The Fourtrax 420 can be bought with in either two- or four-wheel drive forms – though the latter has selectable two wheel drive if needed. There’s plenty of technology packed into the pricier, more advanced variants including the option of a dual-clutch transmission and even power steering, which should make traversing rutted, muddy tracks fairly effortless. -
Review: Piaggio MP3 300 and 500 (productReview)
Where other scooters can be wrong-footed by ruts and ridges, the Piaggio pair glide along. It’s another area where these scooters hold far more appeal for car-driving converts. However, the width of the MP3s means filtering requires more care and attention. Many car drivers will also be happy with the 56mpg of the 500 and 70mpg promised by the 300 as both should cut running costs. -
Review: Thule 991 RaceWay 2 bicycle carrier (productReview)
It has a quality feel to it and is very incredibly secure when mounted. There are no worries about this moving as you drive along or worse - falling off the back completely. It's a very sturdy and solid design. Thanks to the clever FitDial system for tightening the cables, the RaceWay stands apart from lesser bike carriers and means there are no worries about the cables becoming loose. -
Cheap ice cream van insurance (Article)
Failure to do so may results in cancelled insurance or refusal to pay out in the event of an accident or total write-off. Who will be driving? This is an important question for small businesses that employ staff. After all, sooner or later, you will want to take a day off and let someone else work on your behalf. Some policies will allow you to add a named driver over the age of 25 at no extra cost.
