Top 15: Must-have kit for the classic car owner (Article)
It’s one of those must-haves that’s so easily overlooked – until you need it. This Halfords CREE LED torch (powered by two AA batteries) features an aluminium body and rubber grip, and offers impressive brightness for its size. And even at £9.99 it comes with a couple of Energizer batteries thrown in. Tape Measure Another item that’s a must-have for every DIY car owner is a tape measure – but if you’re one of those who’s forever losing things, why spend a tenner or more on a top-of-the-range type? -
Review: Mio MiVue 792 Wifi Pro (productReview)
width=500&height=333.3333333333333" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/c7a7981b97d54d949699e0c1c4e16886" /> The internal battery is strong enough to power the camera for a few minutes, but the lack of USB connection means you need to have built up enough power in the car to power it up, so you’ll be doing your scrolling through of your settings while sat in the driver’s seat. -
Review: Anker Roav dash cam (productReview)
Obviously, this won’t capture everything in the event of damage or an accident – it depends on the angle the car is hit from, etc - but it is a handy feature and the battery should keep the camera active for days at a time. The footage itself is impressive. The Roav uses a high-quality Sony image sensor, so images and still frames are clear, meaning important details about other cars or location are easy to make out. -
Fuel Calculator (Article)
This calculator doesn't just compare petrol or diesel, it will also let you compare all powertrains - petrol v diesel v hybrid v electric. It will also factor in electric grants and battery hire, should it apply to the electric car in question. Will the Calculator factor in real world economy? We’ve plugged the calculator into our Real MPG database. -
Review: Aftershokz Aeropex (productReview)
width=500&height=333.33333333333337" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/83c69e9160b247888409e68c0b43794a" /> The headphones offer an eight-hour battery life from a full charge, which takes about two hours, and they can last 10 days in standby. A few small buttons on the right-hand side of the headphones control Bluetooth (which is very easy to pair), volume and power. -
Top 10: Motorcycle gloves for small hands (Article)
Buy them here for less Gerbing XRS-12 heated motorcycle gloves These Gerbing heated gloves range from S - XL so won't suit riders with really small hands - but what they lack in extensive sizing, they make up for in features. If you're touring, connect the heated gloves directly to the bike with Gerbing's battery hook-up. For shorter journeys, like commuting, just plug in the portable batteries (available as an optional extra) for three hours of heat on the lowest setting. Aside from just a heating element, the XR-12 gloves are comfortable and safe, made with a soft, premium leather. -

Review: Blitzwolf BW-ANC1 headphones (productReview)
But because these headphones don't offer an aux option, we have to opt for listening to music through Spotify on a phone rather than a PC - which means our iPhone keeps running low on battery. The audio quality of Bluetooth-only headsets is also slightly lower than those that offer an aux connection, but if you listen to music through Bluetooth most of the time then this won't really matter to you. -
Review: Sealey MAC03 tyre inflator (productReview)
The kit includes a ball needle and adaptors for inflatables though, while the MAC03 connects to your car’s 12v accessory socket to take its power. It’s also bundled with an adapter so you can connect to your car’s battery if you need to. The Sealey MAC03 uses an analogue display, while controls are pretty simple - there’s no auto-stop feature here that allows you to to dial in the desired pressure into the inflator and let it do its thing. -
Review: Tribit XSound Go (productReview)
Switch the Tribit on (it comes partly pre-charged) and it's dead easy to pair to your phone via Bluetooth with a bing to confirm it's connected. A full charge of the lithium-ion battery lasts around 24 hours according to Tribit, although that depends on how you're using it. Sit it out in direct sun and turn it up loud and you can expect that to drop. We've been testing it for several weeks around the house and (mainly) garden and have only needed to charge it once. -
Review: Hyperkin SmartBoy (productReview)
Sorry, Apple fans. The Hyperkin SmartBoy doesn’t require batteries - everything is powered by the phone itself - and it works by reading the cartridge and saving it to the phone’s memory to be played. The padded sides open up to accommodate the phone and slide back together to hold it snugly in place. -
Review: Abee M7 dash camera (productReview)
Additionally the driver can tell the camera to stay switched on when the car is parked. It will then start recording when motion is detected, but since the battery capacity is quite low it’s not much use for parking long term. The image sensor is capable of recording wide dynamic range, which means even when the sun is low in the sky it’s still possible to make out detail on the road. -
Top 10: Gifts for camper van owners (Article)
Much like a dash camera , it's much better to have the device and not need it than wish you'd had it after a tyre blows out and leaves you stranded. This offering from Michelin is simple to fit and use with no batteries to change in the sensors or display unit and no cables to route around your vehicle. Tyre pressure readings are accurate and there's a loud beep when the wheels get rolling to let you know the TPMS is up and running. -
Top 10: Gifts for Women (Article)
Sennheiser PXC 550 The Sennheiser PXC 550 offer NoiseGard Hybrid Adaptive Noise Cancelling, 30-hour battery life and touch-sensitive controls on the ear pads. The headphones have also dropped significantly in price since launching in 2016, making them a very attractive option for those who don't mind that they're getting on a bit. -
Top 10: Gifts for Women (Article)
The sound is crisp and detailed with a pleasant, lively quality to it and the compact design, comfort and decent battery life make them perfect for commuters and frequent flyers. The minimalist headphones feature ear-shaped (Circumaural) cups rather than typical round earcups - which we personally prefer. If you're looking for a comfortable, stylish and value for money pair of headphones for your mum/wife/girlfriend then these are ideal. -

Top 10: Gifts between £50 and £150 (Article)
The specification is good, with an 8MP wide-angle lens, up to 1080p recording and a choice of frame rates while the box includes a battery, USB cable, lens cover and a waterproof case that allows you to use the S2 as deep as 40m underwater. It’s a smart-looking piece of kit too (colours other than vivid yellow are available) and it pairs with the Ezviz Sports app so you can view videos through your phone and share them in seconds. -
Review: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H400 (productReview)
Sadly, you don't get the choice of the Miniature effect like many cameras - even point and shoot cameras - offer. The battery, which is charged inside the camera, provides enough power for 300 shots on a full charge. As well as the rechargeable battery, you also get a shoulder strap, lens cap, instruction manual, AC adaptor, Micro USB cable and AC power lead in the box. -
Review: Sealey Digital Brake Disc & Drum Caliper (productReview)
You also get two batteries – one preinstalled and a spare that’s supplied loose in the box – the dud in our package suggests Sealey’s Digital Brake Disc & Drum Calipers aren’t exactly flying off the shelves. Suffice to say, significantly cheaper alternatives are readily available online. -
Review: Tile Slim (productReview)
What's not so good is having to have your Bluetooth switched on all the time as you'll see your phone charge depleting even quicker than normal. With a battery that lasts about 12 months - and one that can't be replaced - the Tile Slim is something you're going to have to repeat buy. Think of it as £30 a year for a subscription service and it seems good value compared to buying a square of plastic that will be redundant in a years time.
