  The part was out of stock at BMW and as the fault occured over a weekend the car was off the road for another 5 days but the fault was covered under warranty. Fast forward another month (still only had the vehicle two months!) and the o/s/f brake caliper seizes on which again means the car is off the road. I call the warranty company and they say that calipers are not covered under warranty. As such I duly call Beck Evans workshop who ask me to bring the car in but any work will be charged for .

  Now its no secret that im no greenie, i dont read the Guardian, i dont agree with most of the claptrap spoken about global warming and im definately not a fan of anything proclaiming itself to be an 'eco car' but for the purposes of this ive put my prejudices in a box and decided to develop my opinion on what its like as a car, and nothing else. Im also going to attempt to be fair to it and not compare it to the 230+bhp S-Type i usually drive too much. Right, the car, its a 2007 07 plate Prius in black, the T3 model and its done just over 46,000 miles and was acquired from a Toyota dealer (so ive been informed).

  My patience has been tried sorely these past few weeks. Wife's car was parked o/s our house, in the street, 3 weeks ago and was clonked hard by a local council minibus, meaning the car will need a new wing. Fortunately for us, as the minibus drove off without stopping, my local newsagent directly across a main road (we're at the head of a T junction, in a side road) witnessed it and recorded the make, model and registration number.... so i got him to sign and date it and kept his note for evidence.

  Are both definitely cars I would be more than happy to own. Of the premium brands fell in love with the Merc CLS I sat in, but was left a bit flat by the S Class, and the SL. Guess without actually driving them cant get a complete picture, but whilst the CLS gave me a feel good factor from behind the wheel, the others didnt.   I have been of late rather busy with requests to both find and sell cars for people and despite dealers being a bit unrealistic regarding prices there are still bargains to be had, here’s a few I’ve bought. A 2013 63 plate Honda CRV 2.0 S in dark blue with 66,000 miles, full history and near spotless condition. One minor scratch on the NS rear quarter that’s not really noticeable unless you’re really looking for it and 4 good tyres. £6,000 in a private sale.

  . * USB connection: for me, the simplest but best option if your like music in your car, as you don't need an IPOD to take advantage of the I-Drive - simply load up a memory stick(s)/ MP3 player and the whole lot can be accessed, with track listings etc, through the controller and viewed on the screen. The CD player hasn't been needed. It will store 20,000 track details, but I have found it prefers MP3 to WMA format.

  Go up a size, and the Primera is woeful compared with latest Mondeo / Mazda 6. They don?t have an MPV to tempt me from my Grandis or to compete with S-MAX, C-4, Espaces, Galaxy? they don?t have premium mid-size saloon either like Audi A4, BMW3 / Lexus IS ? nothing!!!!! what do they have? Oh.. the GT-R coming! Wow! But what a price. Sorry for the sideways rant, but being in their showroom yesterday left me SO disappointed.
