  • No goodwill gesture - is this fair? 16 Jul 2012 (Ask HJ)
I own a Fiat 500 Lounge 1.2 2008, 53k miles. I took the car to a Fiat garage with a problem with the front windscreen wipers failing. I was informed...
  • Nissan Leaf - Leafing my wallet alone! 5 May 2024 (Forum)
the interior. It’s a bit dark and the high dash and small windscreen make it feel a little claustrophobic but it’s well built and the heated front seats are comfortable. The rear bench is I find a little flat for adults and you’ll find your legs sitting proud of the cushion, but there’s decent space back
  • Which new car to buy? 2 Apr 2019 (Forum)
seating position, 5 doors, good all-round visibility Would like - fun to drive, heated front windscreen. I have very long legs (for a female, but probably also for anyone) and big feet and prefer an upright seating position ideally with knees higher than hips. I do not want a VAG

able to be lowered by another inch or so The Bose sound system is 'ok', but nowhere near as good as the one I had in a Y reg 2.4JTD 156 Veloce a few years back I was originally going to get a 1.8 tdci Titanium X Mondeo but the waiting list put me off. Apart from the heated front windscreen (and I

No Heated seats - Ford Galaxy and Scorpio both both those in 1998/1999 6. No electric memory seats (Ford Scorpio
  • buying car to 'share' with 17 year old son 18 Feb 2014 (Ask HJ)
I have persuaded my soon to be 17 year old son not to spend his savings on a car as he would not be able to afford to run it as he will be a student for...

with a similar trim level to the Focus (Titanium) and Fiesta (2014 Titanium X) that we have - cruise control, DAB, heated seats, quick melt windscreen, keyless entry, push button start etc.  Any good options that meet all these requirements? It would be nice to stick with Ford since my partner has

in the laguna Clutch foot rest Not bothered about things like alloys, although I don't dislike them, Would consider any make-looks/image not a very high concern to me. I like all sorts of cars-even quirky Citroens. A heated front windscreen'd be good. So not an exacting list of requirements then! I already
  • Vauxhall Insignia (2008 - ) - My day out at Millbrook Proving Ground 2 Nov 2008 (Forum)
as we'd never driven one before. Very small mirrors, the annoying heated windscreen but a lot more driveable than the Insignia petrol. So, a good day, topped off by some offroading in an Antara SUV - very capable vehicle! Would I buy an Insignia - yes, nice car, but it'd have to be an estate. Oops
  • Toyota Prius plug in 2017 - Very quick review 7 Feb 2018 (Forum)
button first.  It then started. Disappointed no heated windscreen like the Leaf, so it was out with the scraper.  Then demist the car which meant engine running. First thing was how far I felt from the windscreen.  The A pillars are very large and possibly intrusive

when the external temperature reached 47° C, although I guess that isn?t likely to be an issue in the UK. I have no idea how the heating is, I?ve never used it. Strangely it seems to get the back of the car much colder than it does the front. I loved the automatic windscreen wipers. Changing speed
  • Top 10 diesels on the market 11 Feb 2007 (Forum)
an MPV and feel like a eunuch. Citroen has over-egged the windscreen omelette with the new C4-based Picasso ? but the result is a widescreen wonder with acres of space and plenty of gallic charm. And don?t tell the all the other school runners, but it?s fun to drive, too. Prices kick off at around
  • Volkswagen Golf V (2004 - 2008) - 105TDi - the first 30/90 (months/k miles) 21 Mar 2008 (Forum)
the interior temp may be, the incoming air surely needed to heated to max? not so welcome in late summer. The V is a great improvement over the 110 GT Tdi MkIV it replaced; roomier, more refined and quicker, despite it having a claimed 5bhp less. The V whistles round corners, whereas the IV was like wrestling

remember any of our previous cars having this ability and will certainly come in handy once the cold weather returns. The two rear seats slide back and fore independantly, this can be done from the rear seats via levers on the front of the base or from the boot via levers on the top of the seat backs

the car, the rear LED lights and front day running lights as well as LEDs under the door mirrors illuminate slowly and elegantly. The resulting light show is very impressive. Less impressively, BMW has replaced the traditional key with a heavy piece of plastic which you have to put into a slot
  • My Road Test - Volvo XC70 D5 Summum Auto 19 Jul 2006 (Forum)
, shabby and worn-out. There is a lot of buttons on the central console and at the first glance it all feels a bit messy, but eventually becomes extremely easy to master. Leccy folding mirrors, leccy suspension, DSTC traction, heated & ventilated seats - it's all there, just push the proper button
  • Cuba Fly Drive 29 May 2008 (Forum)
was the exception. There were plenty of 1950?s station wagons used as MPVs and they were usually crammed full with families. All the wood trim had usually gone and the cars re-sprayed all over in one colour. I didn?t see a single intact windscreen and a lot of quarter lights where replaced with solid plywood panels
