  • Mazda 2 - Buying a used car - advice please 28 Aug 2019 (Forum)
I have found a mazda 2 which is 8 year's old and on it's recent MOT  it mentions two advisories for : surface corrosion rear axle and slight damage n/s outer sill. The previous MOT before that had advisories for surface corrosion rear axle, rear springs. I'm not sure on how big or expensive of a problem this corrosion is, can you please advise ?

  • 90K Astra maintainance 4 Aug 2019 (Forum)
The Astra has just clocked up 90k miles, and ideally I would like to get another 30k out of it before it gets scrapped. It´s a 1.8 16V on a V. CDX trim, all the bells and whistles, and we really like it. Plus if it keeps going for another few years it means we can afford to keep the beautiful Barchetta. With this in mind, I am changing the oil now every 3k, and the filter every 6k.
  • Car-Unlimited.com - car sales website 22 Jul 2019 (Forum)
Hi all. Wondering if you can help me out? I've been looking at buying an Audi A3 S-Line and found one this morning on the car-unlimited.com website. This company appears to buy repossessed cars and then sell them on. According to their website, the buyer reserves a vehicle online, then the car is delivered to their home address and is given 3 days to decide if they want to keep the vehicle, at which point payment is made.

REF DW & his 3008 Puretech 130 - Depending on the age of the car it might be due a software update for the engine ecu. There's has been a software update campaign for the older Puretech 130's that Peugeot / Citroen main dealers will carry out when you take the car in for a service / other work. Either ask your main dealer / UK customer service OR check your vin on Service Box as it will tell you if your car requires a main dealer visit.
  • Peugeot 207 - Fuel Accumulator Access - HELP! 7 Jan 2019 (Forum)
I have my trusty Haynes manual which has been brilliant, but it says (https://www.dropbox.com/s/oaqxzt6x3t9pbmk/1546799173673753.jpg?dl=0) to remove the high pressure fuel pipes from the common rail (ie accumulator). Now from what I can tell then is at the back of the engine underneath the air filter housing.
  • Driving to France 31 Oct 2018 (Forum)
I've familiarised myself with everything I'll need because I was quite rightly told to have a look at their driving laws which slightly differ to here in the UK.  Since this will be my first time driving in France I was wondering if anyone know s of anywhere which sells everything required for driving over there? I know of a few places but I was just wondering if there's anywhere which sells it all so I can save money on shipping. Also preferably looking at websites which aren't too expensive    Thanks in advance J

  • Audi A5 - Fuel economy 2 Oct 2018 (Forum)
Ok so modern cars are obviously great and all, but I am really struggling to understand how my Audi A5 2.0 TFSi S Tronic is so economical? As it’s passed 15k miles it’s really stepped up. Over the last 2000 miles (a mix of Manchester congestion, and motorways) I am averaging 43mpg. 10 years ago I didn’t get that from a Ford Focus 1.6 petrol.
  • Subaru Forester - Britains dirtiest diesel car 24 Jul 2018 (Forum)
The Forester produced 2.02 / kg of Nox which is 25 times the official limit Further tests revealed since 2017 five Renaults appear in the list of the 10 most polluting cars. But at the other end of the spectrum are The Mercedes E and S class which in one spec produced 0.023/ kg of Nox. Apparently these MB models are not affected by the recent controversy. As regards petrol cars the Ford Ka and Fiat 500X and Audi Q2 top the list as the most polluting while naturally the Prius and CHR hybrids are the cleanest.
  • 2009 Peugeot 308 SW 1.6 HDI 110 BHP - Folding Door Mirror. 1 May 2018 (Forum)
The N/S Door Mirror foldback facility no longer operates,an issue that occured suddenly...working one minute-banjaxed the next. The Drivers side continues to function normally. All the other electronic mirror functions,eg mirror glass adjustment and indicator repeater light continue to function also.Oddly enough Autodata makes mention of a Fusebox which appears to be ignored by Peugeot themselves, but contains a fuse F37,marked as Passenger Door Mirror !!.....
  • Any - Best electric car in 2018? 20 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Ideally we don't want to spend more than £25000 after trade in and the the government grant. Which model/s do you guys recommend, or is there something due this year that may be worth waiting for?

  • Hyundai i40 - i40 On going clutch issue! 28 Nov 2017 (Forum)
Hoping for a bit of advice. Have been endured a horrible `sticky` gearbox for probably over a year now, it`s got to the point it is now so frustrating that I`ve asked my local garage to sort it out. They`ve got back to me sayin they need to replace the clutch. I`m quite happy to try this but am a bit worried the problem will return at some point.
  • Er..hoping for advice. - Used 7 Seater for £8k-£9k (with usable 3rd row?) 10 Apr 2017 (Forum)
My optimistic wishlist includes an occasional-use 3rd row which can fit rapidly growing teenagers over the next few years (only 12 now but growth becoming measured in MPH). Anyone have any opinions? Looking at Galaxy, S-Max, Grand Scenic, 5008, Verso, Mazda 5 and, well, anything really. Final desire is not *too* old, 2011+ if possible but that might be too much to ask :) Thanks,
