  Call dealer inform of problem. they say it may cost to sort but I beg to differ and book car in. Car in - fuel pump timing recalibrated and they inform me that \'sorted under parts warranty\'...hand car back with fuel pump timing recalibrated and seems ok. 1500 miles later same problem (car running gutless and problems starting etc).

  However, you can only get UNLEADED fuel at a few fuel stations here in the capital, Amman. UNLEADED is simply not available at all outside the capital. So most people just fill up with the 4 star or 2 star that is widely available and cheaper than unleaded to boot.

  I've noticed a number of cars now have six forward gears.  I expect this is to do with fuel efficiency. However, does it affect driving style ? Is it O.K. just to use five of the gears ? Any increase in running costs ?

  Does anyone know of any evidence that different surfaces (e.g.tarmac or concrete) affect fuel consumption?  The level of road noise certainly varies, suggesting that at least some energy is lost as sound.  That might suggest that the recent 'quiet' tarmac could improve consumption marginally.

  Slowing down under braking almost to a halt the Engine appears to stall like as if the Fuel Cut Out has been Activated . It won,t restart for about 10 mins then seems O K  !  Any ideas as to exactly what the fault is ?
