  • Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 2000 2.0 110 BHP HDI Air Pollution Fault 23 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Turbo decides to have massive lag and only kicks in a 3000 rpm but drives fine other than that. Local garage changed water logged air filter - no change to turbo lag. Then one morning the fuel pump (located in the fuel tank) decides to give up. Second hand fuel pump fitted successfully and car starts fine, however 'air pollution fault' showing along with the engine management light on dash.
  • BMW 5-Series E34 (1987 - 1996) - 1989 3.5 Does My Car Have A Cold Start Valve 12 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Im having issues with the car constantly flooding and refusing to start properly. basically it has been laid up and only moved short distances for quite a while now so unsurprisingly the engines flooded. if i remove the spark plugs and leave them on the radiator for 24 hours then refit them and start the car with the accelerator pressed to the floor it will fire then catch and start but not on all 6 cylinders but won't rev at all and if the accelerator is raised from full on it cuts out. after it cuts out then thats it, it refuses to start until i pull the plugs again and dry them and allow the fuel to evaporate in the cylinders. if when i refit the plugs and remove the fuel pump fuse and crank it it refuses to catch no matter how long i crank it, but will cough and splutter with a small amount of easystart, once the fuel pump fuse is replaced we start the whole catching but won't rev then cuts out cycle.
  • Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - First Time Company Car 24 May 2008 (Forum)
Typically with a company car offer is insurance for personal usage included? When they say I'd be responsible for my personal mileage is this usually just fuel? 2. Fuel. The offer is that I would purchase all the fuel and recharge the employer for the business mileage @ £0.14/mile. Firstly, as this is above the 11p advisory fuel rate for this cc engine, can anyone advise the tax implication to me?
  • FIAT Grande Punto (2006 - 2009) - Impressions of 28 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Unlocking the fuel cap in a crowded service station on the A1 proved embarrassing. Eventually I got the hang of it but I still think it unnecessary and complicated. If someone wants to steal your fuel and the cap is locked he will just put his tin under your fuel tank and bash a hole with a screw driver.
  • Climate change - latest report 14 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Not good to rely on other countries for basics In addition we need to change our approach to fossil fuel use from the “I can afford it, so why can’t I use it? (waste it?) approach to one of “personal responsibility” for conserving the limited resource, the excess use of which is damaging climate.
