  • n/a - New car gadgets 24 Jan 2024 (Forum)
Irritating beep if you exceed the speed limit. Don't need or want it. Never got close to anything to trigger AE braking but it did briefly beep as a bin liner blew across in front of me, didn't actually brake as the 'obstacle' cleared. Dash display persistently telling me to change up (no doubt programmed to meet claimed emissions/mpg)  I have driven dozens of cars, vans and forklift trucks over the last 60 - odd years, this feature really gets on my nerves because this 1.0 turbo engine feels gutless until the turbo kicks in, so in urban driving feels less flexible than my 1.4 n/a unit.
  • Hyundai Kona - Mild Hybrid Wierdness 13 Nov 2023 (Forum)
Some of its "start stop" logic was rather illogical too - for example if the engine had gone off as described above, it seemed to always restart if you pressed either brake or clutch pedal. In reality when driving this as you would in a normal manual, this meant that the engine was idling at the vast majority of traffic lights instead of being off. The only way to get the engine to stay off at traffic lights seemed to be to knock the car into neutral while the engine was still running, re-engage the clutch and coast in neutral when applying the brakes.

  • Honda Civic 2009 - Wheel alignment (tracking) - am I going mad? 27 Oct 2020 (Forum)
It’s almost like it takes a while after the fix, for everything to slot into its rightful place. 4. The guys checked the brake discs, which are apparently a bit corroded on the lip. Am I right this wouldn’t be relevant to the steering being heavy at low speeds? I think the brakes would cause a different symptom like shaking in the steering wheel, which I haven’t got.

  • Nissan Xtrail 2017 - Ex rental purchase 27 Jul 2018 (Forum)
I suppose as long as it’s still under warranty it will be ok, brakes are classed as general wear and tear, which is the main reason I have not chased that up. I just wondered had anyone experienced similar issues, I know I’ve probably got to just suck it up and put it down to experience but it does bother me a lot they knowingly held back information.
