  I have seen reports of problems with VW Golf info systems but no battery drain! Any one heard of similar problems??? Vag have denied there is a problem, I don’t think it is a s/w problem sounds more like a module fault

    BMW 520 Touring (possibly Xdrive) Mercedes E220 AMG Estate,   Peugeot 5008 Kia Sorento GT Line S  Anyone have any thoughts, or possible alternatives! Reliability, comfort, good resale values are some important qualities to me as opposed to badge appeal, hence my current diverse list!

  Have not been able to replicate it, but searched online  and found one single post 4 years ago on a Kia forum. seems my size 12's might have been pressing throttle AND brake pedals at the same time. OOPS! I did have some proper hefty broad walking shoes on. Another handy thing I found this week is that the rear seats have 3 levels for reclining..

  has any experienced problems with their gear box. I have a  2018 plate 1.4 TFSI black edition s tronic and have been advised by my dealer that because I did not change the gear oil at the correct time/miles has caused a fault meaning a new main control gear box unit ECU is required (not covered under warranty due to me not changing the oil at the correct time doh  and at a 2k cost).

  Housing for ultrasonic alarm sensor offside A pillar missing, so sensor waving around (in line of sight) on 8 cm of wire 4) Outside temperature sensor U/S showing a temperature of 36 degrees Centigrade (in March!) Not a particular problem, apart from the fact that the climate control system responds to that, so, unless temperature set to "Hi" system blowing cold air, air con not functioning, car misting up.

  I want to check the repair history for my BMW. The main dealers can do this, by performing a lookup against my car?s VIN and running a detailed ?Vehicle History Report?, but won?t do it in the depth I require unless they receive written authorisation from the previous owner. Which probably won?t be forthcoming. The type of information I want to find out includes the service codes, showing the issues the car had when it came in for each service.

     The concept of covering number plates for the entry and exit process was an attractive afterthought, but probably illegal - even though I was on a private road at Southampton docks, not the prublic highway. I have a the needle for these parking firms, especially after Mrs S was awarded a charge for parking at a local retail park ... whilst she shopped then ate in a restuarant in an adjacent but differently managed retail park.

  A new Touran fits the bill but the older ones lack the isofix points and are mainly diesel. Equally I don't want anything as big as an S-Max. I wonder if a CR-V could fit both seats, with one in the middle, and an adult next to them? Am I going to have to go to a dealer and fit both car seats to see if it is practical?

  Has anyone got any experience with buying from them? The car I'm looking at is a 2014 Ford fiesta zetec s and has low milage. I've checked my local dealer Evans Halshaw and for the same money Ford want, my money would get a car a year older with far more miles on the clock. I've also read its generally better to get from a main dealer rather than franchise, after reading about Evans Halshaw its left me in doubt buying from them.

  The finance company are not a party to the insurance policy taken out so as far as I am concerned, my obligatrion is to pay the finance company the settlement figure and it is the insurnace companys obligation to pay me the market value. Is this correct or am I missing something ???? Thanks S
• Ford Focus - EXTENDED WARRANTY 20 Mar 2016 (Forum)
  Just over a year ago I bought a Ford Focus from Motorpoint in Newport. The car was only 6mths old and still had over 2 years of the manufacture`s warranty to run. The extended warranty was not to kick in until 2017 (Sept). Unfortunately I was involved in an accident last week and the insurance company have told me that the car is a write-off.

  I have a ford fusion at the moment that I regretted buying as soon as I pulled onto my drive but the £30 year road tax - MPG and big boot make up for its performance / look but the injectors failing  - Clutch and flywheel change cost me a fortune.   Any help would be much appreciated s

  t go above 3000 revs in any gear. There is no engine management light on. I have changed I think it?s the n75 sensor, removed and de-coked the turbo, I have tried fitting a second hand turbo, and tried a new mass air flow meter, all to no avail. # Can anyone suggest where else to start looking? Could it be an injector problem?

  I am in my late forties and have been with the same insurance broker since the early 90's, never made a claim (max NCB they give is 9 years), clean license. I drive a 2003 Ford focus with under 70000 miles on the clock. Every year the comprehensive insurance cover goes up and last year cost me £410 with breakdown cover, legal expenses cover and admin fee.

  2. Are the valves/is the system affected by temperature? 3. If one or more valves are now u/s, is this covered by warranty? 4. Does the car gave to go to a dealer to have the warning light reset? 5. Is it possible/legal (if it is a valve system) to replace the valves with 'proper' ones and switch off the TPMS?

• Dacia Logan - Tyre pressure warning light 21 Nov 2015 (Forum)
  It said 'get to a main dealer ASAP'. Fortunately I was quite close to one. On more detailed reading of the warning light(s) it seemed to be a tyre pressure problem. I've just put on my new winter tyres and wheels. "Oh," says Mr. Garage Man "That'll be because you haven't got electronic tyre valves.  "So how much to get the warning lights reset?"

    Should I get the oil changed anyway or am I being overly cautious?   Paying for the oil change is no issue, but for a s****** (dealer) to turn down work makes me think perhaps they are telling me the truth.   Thanks in advance. 
• Peugeot 508 SW - Registered April 2014 - Rear tyres worn out in 14000 miles 17 Sep 2015 (Forum)
  Following an alignment check camber and tracking seriously out on the rears plus incorrect camber on O/S/F. Warranty will not pay for adjustments so £300 for tyre and £140 for adjustment down to my pocket. I was in the trade previously for 20 yrs, including Mercedes Benz main dealer and I have never seen this before.
