  I was driving home today and was going a lot faster then normal and all of a sudden the engine light started flashing and the car seemed to have a pot off once i dipped the clutch it came right again it seems to do it when i give it some throttle but as i say if i turn it off once restarted its fine and runs perfect again any help would be most welcome thanks in advace

  My thoughts are the bmw is a bit dated inside and the A6 wins hand down on the interior. Outside I don't think there is much in it. Running costs etc going to be similar I think? What do youcthink?

  Hello first time poster I have a new 5 month old 4K mile q7 it developed a fault last Sat 30th April key problem it would let me in car but not start (8 hours for Audi road side assistance to recover) Have any new q7 owners suffered the same/similar problem? Audi have it up and running on temporary fix but are stating it is temporary and fault could occur again. Any info or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  My focus 1.6 tdci started fine I went to turn around and it just cut out,it would turn over but not fire.it showed no fault codes but did start with easy start ran fine for a week and then same again tried a different diagnostics machine again no fault code but fired on easy start and seems to run ok again but don't know when or where it will happen again. HELP?

  Apologies if this is a stupid question, but if I pull up to a set of traffic lights or am in a jam and I stop with the engine running (stop/start not working) and leave the car in 1st without applying the handbrake (just foot on the footbrake), am I damaging anything, such as the clutch?   To me, the logical answer is yes and that I should at least whack it in to neutral, but if someone can tell me definitively, I'd appreciate it.

  Hi, I am running a 1999 bangernomics merc e300 auto. When I accelerate going uphill the revs increase and there is a delay before gaining speed and the revs dropping. I am used to driving manuals not autos and it feels bit like when the clutch on a manual is on its way out.

  I have unresolved problems with difficult noisy clattering sound when starting from hot. apart from that the car runs brilliantly. Have tried just about everything without success. Avon remapping say they have a solution to this by a stage 1 remap of the ECU. They say this is a common fault with Mk 1v golf diesels.

  hi i went to work drove 34 miles engine was running great tempriture every thing was spot on when i got out of the car i noticed oil driping on the floor so  after some nvestigation i found there was very little oil in the engine as it had went into the radiator and coolant bottle has any one got any ideas thanks migw45

  [endif]--> The fan on my Fiesta won’t turn off when it gets to the correct temperature. It comes on alright, but I have to switch it off via the ignition, otherwise it keeps running and puts strain on the alternator. My mechanic is slightly baffled as well, he’s changed all the switches, thermostats etc, even plugged it in and controlled the fan by the ECU turning it on/off etc.

  Hi everybody, I have recently bought a X5, which has LPG fitted, She runs really well. Got one thing that is niggling me though, I have heard that it is best to use an oil additive, as gas can cause premature valve wear. Can anyone advise me on this and if so, what oil additive should I use?

  My C5 hpi 2ltr petrol will start and run on tick over all day, however when the car is reved to 3000 revs plus it will drops down after about ten seconds to 2000 revs and wont rev again, turn the car off and immediately start it and car will rev up again as before and same situation occurs, can you help please.

  my carjust wont start,got rac out the guy put a meter on it,code came up fuel valve,took it to my sons garage he cleaned tank water in fuel all drained new filter but would not start so he towed it to start and it did,it ran ok for a couple of days but went to start it nothing,would that be fuel running back to tank or what ???

  62,000 miles fine,no problems.smoke on excelleration.remedy,just had " Teraclean " treatment to engine . result no more smoke.very reliable car . regular servicing and a bit of high speed driving to clean the system seems to keep it running ok . would recomend one to anyone. dave dl

  A closer look, and  i see water pumping out of the right side of the front of the engine block when the engine is running. Can't see if it's from the gasket but does look lower than that. Water seems to be clear.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.   Cheers

  The car has always taken a long time to warm up but now it only gets half way up the guage unless it sits in traffic just ticking over when it goes up to "normal" at the top of the guage. If the engine does not get up to normal running temperature will this effect the emissions readings at the MOT?

  With the price of petrol where it is, and rising, I am thinking of having my engine cleaned internally by this "System".  Reports seem to be favourable, in the main, mentioning improved consumption and smoother running ie all the thjings you hear  about additives and other snake oil! Has anyone had this work done and what do they think of its benefits, if any?
