  2002 jag x type petrol auto..wont start, tried jump leads but battery seems ok. ie all lights, dash, radio etc come on like blackpool illuminations. But the car wont start..instead a very audible clicking sound then a whirring sound when ignition switched off. I should mention outside temperature is somewhere between -12c & -15c !

  my mileometer reading stays on all the time, not sure if this should or not. please help as it's doing my head in, it has recently had a new battery so i know thats not the problem.

  My electronic key (which doubles as a remote control for the locks) suddenly one day ceased to function - luckily at home where I could get the spare key. It isn't the batteries. I have been told I need to pay £240 for a new one. isn't there anywhere I can get the key re-programmed?

  HELLO IV JUST SERVICED OUR RENAULT MASTER AND CHANGED GLOWPLUGS AND AN INJECTOR BUT I MUST HAVE LEFT THE BATTERY WIRE ON. NOW I GET THE GLOWPLUG AND A WIGGLY LIGHT ON ABOVE IT CAN ANYONE TELL ME A WAY OF REMOVING IT WITHOUT GOING TO A GARAGE. THE VAN RUNS FINE SO I THINK IT JUST LOGGED A CODE CHEERS
• FIAT Bravo - Car Overheating.- Radiator fan not working 28 Jun 2010 (Forum)
  The fan on my P reg 1.6 Fiat Bravo doens not seem to be operating at all the car overheats. I have been told to check the relay next to the battery. When I open this compartment it has space for a relay but there is not on there. I have also bypassed the radiator fan switch using a paperclip and fan still does not work. Anyone any ideas?

  Im having a bit of a problem opening all 3 passenger doors via key fob but driver door is fine. Its a bit temperamental but majority of the time it doesnt happen. Key fob battery changed and the lock mechs are lubed up........any ideas?

  - when I try to lock the car using the button on the key fob, everything locks but then unlocks immediately after. Have to lock it using the key. Battery in fob replaced fairly recently. Any ideas? Cheers F (2.0 Ghia estate)

  I turned on the ignition, and whilst all the dash lights and gauges are ok, there is no response from the starter. It is as if it is immobilised. I have tried disconnecting the battery, and re-connecting. I dont think it is immobilser, as the fuel pump kicks in to build up fuel pressure. Please can someone help

  We don't have the infra red key and the immobiliser has kicked in when the battery went flat, Renault want £160 at least for a new one, has anyone got any suggestions how we can get round this? Credit crunch etc mean we are broke!

  The batteries went dead in my remote fob but now i have changed the battries it does not work. i have a 1998 micra and the fob is a siemens 5wk4 600. Its an oval shaped unit with a red lock button and a black unlock button.

  my fob will not operate the central locking and when i open the door with the key this sets the alarm system off the car will start and run the but alarm still goes off intermiittently i have tried changing the battery in the fob and the fob lights up when pressed it will not operate as a remote for the central locking

  I am desperately in need of some advice, I ha a new battery tray welded into the back of my 1972 vw camper last friday, I have just discovered the rear lights on that side no longer work! Is this something I should expect the welder to sort as they were working before or am I stuck with trying to trace what he has done.

  Just a quick question about whether having the rear heated screen switched on whilst the engine is off as you can do with this car (for 10-15 minutes) can do any harm to the battery or does it depend on whether the alternator is working as it should ?

  Begging you guys for a bit of help here. The alarm won't stop unless I disconnect the battery. Sometimes the siren sounds, sometimes not. Usually the headlights flash. It's an L-reg 1994 Peugeot 306 XRDT. How can I permanently disable the alarm? Thanks,

  When I put it back, and reconnected the electrics, the seat belt warning light started flashing. How do you reset this? Disconnecting the battery did not work. John

  i have a 1998 306 dts which has been sitting at side of house for 3 months,the car has been locked using deadlocks but now the battery is completely flat and i can't gain access to it,do you have any ideas as how to gain entry.the boot does not have a lock. thanks in advance.

  I need to programme in my CD player code as I had to replace the battery and so the radio/player went off. I know the code but I don't know how to actually programme it in and each button I press just beeps rudely at me! So frustrating as I'm having to drive in silence!

  my car has recently been off the road for two months due to smash, but now repared my battery was disconnected and ive recoded radio which is working fine but cd changer isnt working, the fuse is ok and wiring seems ok under seat.......any ideas?
