Any - Battery Care 23 May 2021 (Forum)
How many minutes of running does an average modern car take to replenish the electrical energy taken from the battery to start its petrol engine from cold? I remember hearing in the past that it took at least 15 minutes, but that was a very long time ago and cars back then didn't have all the electrical accessories and gadgets that they have these days. -
Pug 207SW 5-door - Rainwater entry 20 Mar 2021 (Forum)
My natural assumption was via the door and a failed membrane behind the door-card, but this seems not to be the case. My next guess is entry round the rear lamp cluster, running forward under the carpeting. Anyone got other ideas ? -

Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 28-12-2019 Part 1 30 Dec 2019 (Forum)
Regarding the replacement of the BMW with an electric vehicle, if your total annual mileage is low and you are elderly it is possible that the reduction in co2 from the running of an electric vehicle never pays back the embodied co2 incurred in its construction especially if the electricity used is generated wholly or partly using non-renewable sources. -

Regenerative compression braking 9 Aug 2018 (Forum)
Why don't manufacturers fit an air tank (Like those found on HGVs for the brakes - standard industry tech) and use the 'wasted' compression strokes as a brake to fill the tank, and use the compressed air like a small battery for stop-start traffic? The engine could still run and power A.C. etc etc that way, with nothing but air out the exhaust. Maybe there are catalyst concerns but seem ok with standard stop-start systems -

Land Rover Defender - Losing the plot 6 Nov 2016 (Forum)
I was reading in a different on line motoring magazine that the new Land Rover Defender will be the most high tech car yet, more than the latest Discovery and Range Rover etc. Are Land Rover now nothing more than a Chelsea tractor school run manufacturer and forgetting what the Defender is really all about. I fear for the reliability issues if it is to be laden with Tech. -
