Mazda 3 - Mazda 3 2.2 d engine failure - warranty problem 13 May 2015 (Forum)
I left it until 4pm on the Tuesday before I rang back again, and this time the same guy answered the phone and told me his colleague had been dealing with this case, and she was currently with another customer, so would call be back shortly (leading me to believe they had some news). Wednesday lunchtime and still no call, so I rang again, this time getting straight through to the lady I needed, who said that there was still no news, they were waiting for the report. -
[C]5 go on a trip........ 21 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Moulding lines are visible everywhere, the doors have the most amazingly cheap plastic opening pockets you have ever seen. Everywhere you look are things which don?t *quite* fit together. You can see where the air pipe leading to the vents protrudes slightly, for example. I am sure it could fit, but it hasn?t been. The sun visors follow the general trend of cheap, plastic, and likely to break. Clearly there was little or no quality control on the design or the building of the car. -
Lorries overtaking - definitive response 20 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Generally speaking, all us truckers drive in the same way and if a hazard appears ahead that the truck behind can't see then the leading truck will give enough warning by using indicators/hazards/dabbing of brake pedal to alert the following trucker to ease off in anticipation of a hazard or follow suit of changing lane etc. If you're following any other vehicle that isn't a truck then you've no idea what they could do or what their intentions are. 3) Pulling out to overtake. -
The complete driver. Why worry? 27 Apr 2003 (Forum)
ON BEING GREEN There is an awful lot of tommy rot talked about the environment, mostly by vegetarians, who enjoy eating it. The political johnnies have seen the chance of a vote, and are making a bit of a fuss about leaded petrol, and all that. Rather than change one?s driving habits it is easier to use camouflage. A couple of bicycles strung on the back of the old jalopy will soothe the tree-huggers and possibly cover one? -
Warning for Rattle: how to do it, how not to do it 14 Feb 2010 (Forum)
The tyres were all balding and exhaust leaked into the car. The radio did not work. But new plugs, plug leads and distributor cap confirmed a recent tune and all the main running gear seemed fine. I said I would buy it if Herb would sort out the exhaust and radio. He fitted an aerial that made the radio work, sort of - it could get country and western music, anyway - but when I went to collect the car the exhaust still needed doing. -
from Catherine about my motorbike course 30 Apr 2004 (Forum)
When you stop to pay your toll at the booth put the exact money in Saran wrap before the ride so you don't inconvenience other drivers waiting behind by fumbling around and also it means you sail through the" Exact Toll - Absolutely No Change Given" lane so you don't have 2 sit behind some bus and choking on his smoke, if riding in a group the lead rider pays the tolls for all. Your right boot will pick up the oil and garbage from the surface at the pay window, so make sure you stay well left, then go through, pull over and stop and wipe your right boot so you get the muck off before you go on else it won't stay on the footrest and could slip off the rear brake pedal. -
16 important OIL questions answered! 8 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Occasionally, touring engines will use oil for no apparent reason. This is often due to the oil level rising in the crankcase due to air retention, leading to oil loss through the breather. The answer is to move to a lighter grade of oil to improve air release. 15) If you need to top up your engine oil, how important is it to use exactly the same brand and type?
