New car - making a shortlist 28 Feb 2016 (Forum)
I really liked it and SWMBO was comfortable. It's not just a matter of height off the ground - she gets in and out of her Mini Roadster without too much trouble. Out of the running - Mercedes GLA, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and Mazdas CX-3 and CX-5 - spare wheel not even an option and no space for one. Sorry - that's a deal-breaker. -
Pre-retirement choice - Honda, BMW or other? 4 Sep 2015 (Ask HJ)
Due to our low mileage (9k/year) and pollution concerns we seek a small/medium petrol automatic to replace our much loved 2001 Honda Civic auto. My wife... -
Branded! Hot iron mark removed - Nokia E63 5 Jun 2010 (Forum)
The GSM tick- box has now appeared and the phone is upgraded to 400xxx series instead of 200xxx series software - and can be upgraded as Nokia roll out any updates. All traces of the branding is now gone - and with Opera Mini and the latest Google voice maps downloaded it`s only using 13mb of phone memory. Actually that`s also including other `brand x` network specific (program) software that I got back onto the phone through the back door. -
Nissan Almera Tino auto late 2003 - Steering wheel vibration at 60-65mph plus, not w/b? 20 May 2010 (Forum)
Been going on for 2 months now. Car has branded tyres, all good condition. Bought a used Tino (mini MPV). Impossible to test drive it at speed (village, 20-30mph limit). On my way home I got on to roads where I could get above 30mph and at 50mph noticed very considerable judder through steering wheel. -
When Motoring Days Are Over 6 Oct 2004 (Forum)
And no worries about visits from family. They will always be glad to find you, and probably check in for a few days mini-vacation. The grand kids can use the pool. What more can you ask for? So, when I reach the golden age I'll face it with a grin. Just forward all my e-mails to the Hilton!" Upon telling this plan at a dinner with friends and too much red wine, we came up with even more benefits the Hilton provides to retirees: Most standard rooms have coffee makers, easy chairs with ottomans, and satellite TV -- all you need to enjoy a cozy afternoon. -
Tokyo and Toyota 19 Jan 2003 (Forum)
In their product brochure there are no fewer than 21 different models listed as "Sedans", 3 as "Sport", 13 as "2 box", 9 wagons, 13 SUVs, 11 "mini van cab wagons", 13 van truck buses, 5 special purpose vehicles, 3 marine (boats), some fork lift trucks and believe it or not, under the heading "home", 9 different house designs! Some extraordinary looking small cars with suitably ridiculous names; bB (as in: "Hi, I drive a bB"), bB Open Deck (a truly bizarre-looking, tiny, urban double-cabin pick-up with a horizontal bonnet and near vertical windscreen), WiLL CYPHA (sic). -

ANY - Briefing document MG Rover prior to collapse. 12 Mar 2022 (Forum)
The Land Rover operation was relatively successful, had value, and was sold as a going concern to Ford Motor Company. BMW kept the completely updated factory at Cowley as the production site for its new Mini. On a short-term basis it also kept the engine plant at Longbridge and pressing plant at Swindon: it is presently active in finding a buyer for these sites. This left the Longbridge assembly plant that no one wanted unless BMW provided it debt free and with a £500m cash legacy. -
Cars with soul 21 Apr 2020 (Forum)
Traction was lacking so front tyres would last minutes if you had a lead lined right foot. Rover Metro GTi - Modern day Mini Cooper, a go-kart for the road but with comfy seats and central locking. None left so buying one today will cost the Crown Jewels but I had an irrational love for small hot hatches and these were actually very good. -
Legal info for small claims court 28 Apr 2016 (Forum)
I bought a 2013 Vauxhall Astra off auto trader on the 30/ 3/2016 for £4995, it was advertised as cat d and I was told it was only cosmetic damage to the back right rear of the bumper, they said I could easily fix it but it didn't look that bad and i was fine with it as it was. Upon taking it home a friend noticed mini chips over the windscreen and when placing things on the back seat I realised the back seat was not attached to the car at the bottom, I had someone click it into place but the right side had a noticeable gap between the seats And the left side seat clip was broken, I got in contact with the person I was dealing with for the car when I found out about the chips and he said he didn't know they was there but wouldn't fix it as it was cosmetic damage and not covered by them, only a mechanical or engine fault they would cover I also said about the back seat and they said it could of been the people who Valeted the car as they removed the back seat to fully clean it, but on the day and upon taking the car home it was very noticeable it was filthy so I'm not sure whether that was correct, 2 days later I rang for a refund and was told I would not receive one, I asked to speak to a manager and he said he would get them to call me back Saturday morning but that they would also refuse me a refund, the same day I wrote a letter to the manager asking for a refund after speaking to trading standards and stated it was under my short term right to reject and consumer rights, they emailed back but said I wanted a refund because of niggly reasons, I test drove it, I looked it over before purchase etc. -

Hyundai Getz - Accident not my fault, bit unsure of where I stand 16 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Hello, Found this forum after trying to work out what to do. Was crossing a mini roundabout yesterday morning when a lady from my left ploughed into the side of my car. At the scene she was very much "look these things happen" and "I think we both got off quite lucky" . I think she clearly had sight problems as my car was significantly worse off. -

Apparently, according to Polar Ford Castleford, all the cars that are called Mini have the same gearbox and have the same feature. So, here we are; Polar Ford Castleford has agreed to change my vehicle and invited me to look at alternatives. -

2,500 miles with the Aygo 9 May 2007 (Forum)
Removing it makes loading easier. 10 minutes with a Stanley knife could solve this! To sum up I see it as a modern day equivalent of the original Mini or 2cv. No real thrills in driving it, but it does everything we wanted it to do for very little outlay. -
Impressions of new Focus C-max 19 Feb 2004 (Forum)
On the positive side of the visibility front the passenger wiper has a sort of trapezoidal mechanism which allows it to sweep very effectively into the upper corner of the windscreen. Furthermore visibility rearwards is ace for a mini MPV with full headrest complement. What else didn't I like, seeing as I was determined not to like this car. Well accepting that one journey in particular was in quite mucky weather I'm not sure that a washer bottle that is emptied in around 200 miles is big enough and errr what else? -

Cabrio joy 10 May 2020 (Forum)
There were packaging issues with a folding roof on a small car never built to have one too meaning most ended up looking like a prom, see Metro or Mini cabrios for examples. So no supermini cabrios can win for me. So what convertible would I say is the best ever made? Easy, it’s the Mazda MX5. My personal favourites are the early Mk I 1600’s, and the current model with the basic 1500 motor, the simpler the better. -
