  However, today I made a short urban journey and noticed that the Stop-Start activated whenever I was stopped in traffic, even though the engine could have scarcely warmed up. Do Toyota engineers not realise that the S/S needs to be programmed not to activate until the engine is red-hot as HJ’s advice would seem to suggest, or does the action of the S/S indicate that the DPF is not regenerating at the time?

  I've just posted a quick review of my early impressions of my new Fiesta Zetec S TDCI if anyone is interested - a little gem so far and could be one of the best all round cars I've owned.  (famous last words lol, will prob conk out on the way home tonight now I've jinxed it) Someting of a contrast with a 1.1 D reg example I had in the late 80's in a ghastly maroon and which had the most alarming understeer I've ever encountered.

  (Road spanners, revisited) I have several open ended and ring spanners found in this way. It started in the late 60`s - you know how it is, that glint of silver, seen in the gutter or crown of the road. One of them is top quality with four small notches carefully ground into it as an identifier. Still see them sometimes, but modern traffic means it`s trickier to get them and then there`s image to consider - a scraggy lizard like old bloke scrabbling in the centre of the road for another 10mm spanner.

  Id prefer a saloon but an estate will do. I also dont want a shed, so its likely that whatever I buy is going to be 80's or even late 70's possibly rather than a worn out 90's model plus I prefer the simplicity of earlier cars. I have a few ideas in mind but wondering what the BR would suggest? My starting point is the Merc 250 D, late 80's.

  Told I\'d hear this morning. 1pm today rang them again. They can\'t receive France\'s email which has been routed to Citroen\'s Head Office in Slough, because Crawley\'s email is down so they\'re waiting for I.T. to sort it. HAVE THEY NOT HEARD OF PICKING UP THE TELEPHONE AND TALKING TO EACH OTHER????

  m currently looking for 1.0 Micra, 1.0 Corsa B, Punto 55/60, Fiesta 1.25, Ka 2 1.3. Any other suggestions? Not many Micra?s for sale around here, the Corsa?s I?ve looked at have all been rough, and the Fiesta?s all seem to have the rattly 1.3 engine, Ka?s (same engine I know) all too expensive.   I do about 58 miles a day, back-and-to to work, virtually all on dual carriageway (50-70mph). It\'s developed a habit of cutting out unexpectedly. While this rarely happens (only three or four times in the last 3K miles), it\'s irritating. It has only ever happened when I\'m in a queue, and when the engine\'s about three quarters warmed up.
