• Mazda 3 - Car not starting. Please Help! 10 Apr 2021 (Forum)
  The car has a full service history and has literally just been through a full service and MOT. I had a new battery fitted around 3 months ago, so I know the battery is fine. So I was out yesterday at the park. I go to get in the park to come home, key goes in the ignition, all the dash lights come on as normal.....but then nothing.

  One more thing, when I changed the battery in Key 2 and pressed the inner buttons to test the red led was ON all the time (didn't go off) - not sure if this indicated something

  Towards the end of June it began randomly refusing to fire, this problem worsened and in July i took it for a diagnostic which resulted in a new starter motor and crankshaft sensor. The car worked fine until the following morning when the battery died and kept dying after jumpstarting it. After taking it back to the garage they ran a few tests and said the battery wasnt holding its charge therefore I had a new battery. All was rosy until two weeks ago when the car decided to delay firing, followed by not firing, followed by not even turning over, the lights and windows etc still working fine.

  So in order to force a BEV domestic market the authorities decided the end of ICE is now, forced ice sc***ping is on the move. Next year BEV will fail their inspections if batteries capacity fall under a certain threshold, and changing that on an EV will see it sc***ped too, madness.   A neighbour sometimes drives our car back from Heathrow and disconnects the battery, then a few weeks later reconnects it to drive back to the longstay pick-up area.   Any thoughts on insurance, as the fee for just a couple of hours comprehensive cover on two different days has risen hugely.

No, it was replaced because a (software?) fault developed when it got to 666,666km!.  Front pads needed doing at 460,000km............

  Just read this. I know Toyota have been reluctant to enter the pure EV market as they see the current battery tech as wholly insufficient for the job. If they’ve got this right as they’re suggesting then they may well have the game changer here. Fingers crossed. Lower prices, greater lifespan, faster charging and much improved range are all being promised by a car maker which rarely gets it wrong.

  I have been reading for the last week about the concept of installing overhead electric tramlines on the motorway sometime around 2040  Electric HGVs will pick up current as they drive and revert to battery if they overtake or leave the motorway.  So Jeremy Clarkson was not too far out when he suggest covering the Mway with chicken wire like the dodgem fairground.   Sounds OK until there is a crash and something brings the system crashing onto the carriageway.

  Hope some can help For no reason my p307 electric windows and wipers have judged stopped . Checked all fuses . Ok  Disconnected and reconnected battery . Now they work , but only when ignition is switched on . As soon as engine is started they stop working , also just noticed that rev counter is now not working , just reads 1000 rpm no matter what speed engine is at .

  Hi all, Intermittent problem with my dashboard - the lights for the speedo and rev counter randomly turn off while driving, although the trip display remains on. A picture is worth 1000 words...  https://ibb.co/k793de I intend to check the battery connections and reconnect them and cover with vaseline, and also check the fuses for a loose connection.   Hi All, I am trying to get hold of a code for my radio I brought the car and didn't get a code for the radio and had a battery fitted and they didnt keep the power on. Any chance I can get some help please? I got the serial Number SOCD1X7V024059 so I guess the V Code is: V024059 Many thanks Neil

  Recently changed the battery and have problems with the imobilizer wich prevents the car from starting. As long as the red light in the door keeps blinking, the car wont start. Now after several tries to start the car, red light is off but car still wont start.
• Ford Focus Zetec 2003 - Speedometer flickering 19 May 2016 (Forum)
  It is fine 99.9% of the time but, occasionally/randomly, it will flicker noticeably for a few seconds before settling back down. When it does occur, the radio has, on an odd occasion 'surged' too. (The battery was changed recently as was the speed sensor). None of the other dials do this. Might it be an electrical fault with the instrument cluster or it there another possible reason?

  Please can somone help. I had my battery discnnected on my ford giesta lx  2002 an now my stereo does not work as its asking for a keycode. I brought the car secondhand in private sale on Gumtree last year an the paperwork an books that I was givem do not have a keycode written down.

  Does anyone here know for DEFINITE how to reset the ECU on my 2001 VW Golf 1.4?   Different posts seem to say to disconnect the battery from anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours??   Is this total rubbish and can actually only be done with diagnostics equipment plugged in?    Cheers.
