Based on 30,000 policies, the independent automotive warranty specialist warns that the cost of driving during the winter months can leave many with a nasty repair bill at a time when turkey, presents and January sales are the order of the day. Intelligent energy-absorbing crumple zones are built in to protect the occupants, who also benefit from twin airbags and a high-mounted rear stop lamp. -

Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 6-6-2015 6 Jun 2015 (News)
The only way is RS6 I am seriously considering buying a used Audi RS6 Avant, spending around £30k at an Audi dealer so that I can get an Audi extended warranty, etc. I love cars and driving and have always wanted either an M5, RS5 or E63, as they all do an estate version. The RS6 with its 4-wheel drive looks to be the best car for UK roads, but have I missed something? Petrol and service costs I can work out, but are there any insurance companies who specialise in these sorts of cars as the run of the mills firms are not interested. -
Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 4 Apr 2015 (News)
Any advice on trim or colours? AD, via email I prefer the Mazda 2 to drive. The Fiesta did not get better to drive until the facelift. One worthwhile change to the Mazda 2 was dropping below 120g/km CO2, which happened as part of the 2011 facelift. They look good with alloy wheels, and aftermarket black powder coated alloys can look very good indeed. -

A Grand Monday: Toyota Celica 5 Aug 2019 (News)
The owner has been using this as his daily driver for the past couple of years. He says, ‘It drives really well and looks great. It gets washed and waxed every week.’. The sale even includes that private numberplate: LIJ 8087. With prices for the previous generation Celica (T200) firming up nicely, we don’t think it’ll be long before this generation (T230) starts to appreciate in value. -
Hidden Heroes: Peugeot 106 GTi 24 May 2019 (News)
With the prices of tidy 205 GTis hitting stratospheric heights, then, perhaps it’s time to have a look at the 106 instead. You see, even in 1.1-litre form, the 106 was a chuckle to drive, with a brilliantly balanced chassis and a character that made you want to thrash it everywhere you went. Turn up the dial with a 120bhp 1.6-litre engine and suddenly you end up with a truly brilliant little hot hatch - 0-60 in 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 127mph were a match for the 205 GTi 1.9, albeit in a smaller, lighter and bouncier package. -

A Grand Monday: Audi 80 Cabriolet 12 Nov 2018 (News)
In 1993, she was caught by the paparazzi on her way to the gym at the wheel of a green Audi 80 Cabriolet, which later led to her confirming that she had, indeed, bought herself one with her own money, having fallen for the car after driving one that belonged to her friend Serena Armstrong-Jones, the wife of Viscount Linley. Her original Cabrio was soon supplanted by a 1994 model, this time unsurprisingly on Audi Head Office number plates, but even so the Princess put her money where her mouth was, and at the same time elevated the Audi brand from decent to agonisingly cool. -

Audi set to confuse the world with strangely illogical name change 23 Aug 2017 (News)
They will retain their classic names in reference to their top position in the model range. The clarity and logic of structuring the designations according to power output makes it possible to distinguish between the various performance levels,” explains Dr. -

Alvis name revived for continuation classics 31 Jan 2017 (News)

And when you bear in mind that the 4.3 Tourer had a 0-60mph time of 11.3 seconds back in 1938, there’s no denying these were the supercars of their day.' -
