  Anyone else have a big problem with their Vauxhall Omega misting up in rainy weather? I find I often have to use the air con to clear it, putting the demister on usually agravates the problem. It seems that the air from the vents without the air con always smells a bit "humid" to me, would this be the pollen filter that needs replacing?

  On this forum you've always been helpful and polite so will post it here.......I have a R56 Cooper S. Now the air con has never been that cold albeit perfectly acceptable to me. I've only had this car 16 months so it might need a regas anyway ?? However leaving that aside when activating the air con its make the engine note rise considerably.

  Recently my air con and radiator fan started running continuously when the engine was running. This is a June 2003 TDCi. Air con switch did nothing. Heater controls are the 3 round dials (pre-climate control) Fault was found to be the heater control panel which has all sorts of electronics behind it.

  My fathers 2006 Focus II 1.6 Duratec engine, air con stopped working yesterday. He had run the air con regularly at least once a week winter and summer following HJ's instructions about duration of running and cold first then hot to dry things out.

  Hi all I have a problem with my xantia 1.8 16v air con Basically the on/off light faded and I took the switch off to clean the bulb, no problems all working, as i took put the switch back about 75% of the way it was still working fine, then i put the switch back all the way and it stopped, i.e. no click from the compressor and the fans aren?

  Can hear the compressor clicking a lot which I beleive indicates low gas pressure. Before I go to an air con specialist is anybody aware of any common problems or likely places the leak maybe so I can check myself. Thanks Dave

  Hi all ive got a vectra 1.9 cdti sri and the air con does'nt work ive taken it to kwik fit and they couldnt get any pressure and they did'nt have any die so they could'nt check for leaks,so ive been askin around as you do and i was told the clutch could've gone on the compresor is this a comon fault or has anybody sufferd simler symptons.Any help please :-( Thanks....

  Is there a cost effective work around to regas a R12 system now that this substance appears to be outlawed? I have varying responses from garages, air con specialists and the net. The answers seem to depend more on what product they offer than my best interests. Answers vary from new seals, evaporator, condenser, hoses, compressor, to (net) 'just put R134a in and accept more frequent regassing'.

  Our once trusty CRV is getting some annoying faults these days. At 65K the Air Con Pump has disintegrated and of course needs replacing. A new one is £1,100 ho, ho, ho and recoonditioned £500 + fitting. I guess plan C. would be a breakers yard. I would welcome ideas on how and where I can resolve this problem?

  The condenser for the air con on my 200X mondeo (last of the old shape) is being replaced as according to my local Ford dealer it is leaking. I had the aircon regassed a month or so ago, but its effectivness went downhill soon after.

  The air seemed cold on the way back home. At the weekend Mrs C reported that she couldn't tell that it was getting cold. On checking I found that the radiator cooling fan wasn't spinning, which it should when the air con is switched on.

  My 1999T Focus's air-conditioning has stopped working. Just before the winter it was still capable of freezing my fingers off, but it now seems to have no cooling effect at all. Throughout the winter I have switched on the air-con once a week for about 10 minutes (as seems to be recommended).

  Going round a roundabout we heard a very loud clunk underneath, but assumed it was road debris and thought nothing more. Shortly afterwards the air-con stopped working but we didn't make the connection at the time. Assuming the air-con needed re-gassing I phoned the nearest air-con specialist to get an estimate and make a booking. The specialist's response, over the phone without having seen the car, was staggering - "It'll be the condenser, mate, it always is".

  We have a 2005 HDi which we have owned from new, mileage now 32,000, and the air con has been used most of the time. Today it was really hot so I turned the temp dial to cold but it didn't seem to be working. The light above the switch comes on but it just blows out normal temp air.

  The air-con on my zaffy isn't working. I had it recharged sometime ago and when I switched it on, it was brilliant, really cold. I think there was a leak as when I can to use it again the following day, there was no cold air and I believe the coolant escaped.
