  Ford now have multiple brands as part of their ‘Premier Automotive Group’ (Jaguar, Lincoln, Aston Martin, Volvo and Land Rover) and have all-but abandoned the high end of the market under the Ford badge. The options that faced BMW were to either buy an existing brand (or brands), or to build a new brand from scratch.
