  Hi my 2003 vectra radio unit suffers from servere interference on MW. I have narrowed this down to the speedometer as when standing still it is fine, as soon as speedo moves the noise starts, i comfirmed this while going downhill i turned engine off and noise was still there.

  Hi I'm looking to fit a basic CD player to my Yaris (currently just radio/cassette) for not too much money. I see that Halfords do them and include fitting, but should I be looking anywhere else (chain, or specialist in the Reading area)? I think I want it fitting for me, or is it easy?

  In my new VW Sharan there is a radio/cassette fitted which is also a CD player when the autochanger is fitted. I have a Kenwood autochanger taken from my previous Sharan. Is the VW ‘front end’ compatible with the Kenwood autochanger?

  I seem to remember a few years ago it was popular for various doom and gloom merchants to predict that oil would run out in 20, 30, 40 years or so. What's the current estimate? I heard one chap on the radio the other day saying that there was 'plenty of oil around'. Is there?

  Hi, The Multifunction display for radio/computer/phone is total dead! I have searched high and low in Northern Ireland and nobody has a broken vehicle with the second hand part. The Vauxhall part No is: 090565935 or 9180552 Would anyone know of a location of a second hand one in UK?

  Caught an item on the radio to-day where Red Ken got a taxi from the Labour Party Conference (I think, didn't get it all) back to London at a cost of £240, the tab to be picked up by London's taxpayers. Seems he couldn't use public transport as he was in a hurry to attend "Some Important Meetings".

  My local Barber has just demonstrated his in Car TV/Video system to me, it slots into the dashboard in place of the usual radio, it is a fantastic system no doubt but. He says he has it on all the time while he is driving ........... Surely it is illegal to watch a tv in a moving car ? And if so why is such a device on sale ?

  Did anybody hear the news item on radio 4 yesterday morning regarding a variable piston timed engine developed by Mayflower (they are one of the largest engine builders in Europe)it will make these with Ford motor company and will be the biggest change ever to the combustion engine giving far greater economy and performance.I think the piston engine has lot more mileage in it yet.

  Then try a bit more charging if needed  before taking new readings.Only fault on the car is a failed hatch door handle (intermittent) but before troubles started a sony double din cd radio was wired in to replace the failed kia unit, itself a common fault. checked radio only comes on with ignition. so i don't think fault is there. will also check boot light, another common fault.   I am tempted to think that the problem is the lack of use, but would like to try a few ideas before going down the specialist auto eleccy route.

  Starting up the car a few days ago I heard an odd buzzing or clicking sound that I hadn't heard before. I had been listening to the cricket on LW in the morning so assumed it was poor reception on the radio. On the 10 minute journey home I realised it wasn't the radio but instead seemed to be coming from the passenger footwell or behind the dash. Anyhow, half way back home the dreaded engine management light came on and has been on since.

  central locking fault. Went out this morning, arrived a destination, went to get out and the radio didnt turn off when I took out key. Turned it off manually. Opened door and the beep alarm started, thought I may have lights or indicators on but everything off. Hmm. Went to central lock car and nothing, no clicking whirring zilch.

  However its started to cut out when slowing down to junctions or when the clutch is pressed (usually with radio/blower on). There is zero stuttering, just 100% engine cut off with the battery light illuminated as if I rotated the key off. It only seems to happen at the approach to junctions almost when the clutch is pressed the idle can't cover for the electrics that are on (usually fan / radio etc).

  I have recently purchased a 2006 mini cooper cabriolet. Having worked on the car to pass the mot time to refit the broken radio Aries. Having done this it appears to have interfered with the anti theft alarm as we were receiving messages from neighbours through the night saying the alarm was going off. Is this coincidental or is there an interlink..

  My car is a 2006 Ford Focus C-Max, had the alternator changed and now managed to get the serial number for the radio; 6000cd with great difficulty and now it seems that because its a v serial you cannot get it online because its not an M serial. Help...The serial is V226554.

  My dash odometer/fuel economy/outside temperature display unit started cycling rapidly through the options too fast to read any of it. So I disconnected the battery and it reset for a while but now the radio unlock code won't enter and I can't reset the clock. Any ideas?

  The LCD on the odometer and teh LCD on teh raido does not turn off after I turn the engine off and remove the keys, also the radio will turn itself on whit the key out of the ignition. I am assuming that tjhis is a relay fault?

  the battery went dead after radio was left on .changed thebattery and it starts up then  straiht away it dies out. ive noticed when the key is turned on the temp gage and petrol gage dont move . and now since new battery is on i have  loads of  ligts all on the dash any tips or advice please folks

  hi room, FIL has a problem with clocks.. lights... ie speedo, rev counter are dim also the illumination for the dials below the radio console... dont think its a dislogded bulb...poor earth possible? any help would be welcome.. thanks
