  Have just had my car returned from the main dealer because of sooted up DPF and engine management light, Prior to my breakdown , Had done abt 120 motorway miles. They changed the engine oil and filter after regening the DPF, apparently the oil was corrupted and had been running above the fill level.

  He threw some terms in i didnt understand, such as regeneration, and that having the physical components still attached was dangerous, and that turning the dpf on in the map wouldn't necessarily make the dpf work, that the physical dpf may still need to be removed before remapping, fire hazards etc. I wondered if anyone can make sense and explain to me what the problems would be in getting this car back to normal from its current state (turbo-based limp mode, egr and dpf deletes without physical removal, powerful map currently on causing problems, in and out of limp mode, engine misfires and turbo boost failures logged in fault codes).

  Hi , I really need some help and advice I'm on my 5th day of losing sleep over my car, I only bought it 28/08/10 one day after buying it my DPF light came on :(, bank holiday monday I took if for a oil change hoping it was just some diesel in the oil but no, its now at the mazda dealer and guess what it needs a new DPF but luckily it had a replacement DPF august 2009 and lots of other things but the paperwork is in Italian from a mazda dealer there, going by the very very little italian i know and the cost of all the work which was €3360 its safe to say it had a replacement!

  Hi, (EN-2nd language) Just came to my knolege that VW Sharan form 2010 uses a additive for fap/dpf regeneration. Does the CFGC engine come with the same additive? What is that additive made of and how is it going through the engine and helping fap regen? Is it the same eolys form the e4 generation egines used on ford?

  Having read on other forums boasting about dpf removal and in some cases the cat too. Just read about one guy tweaking his map so it smokes less when he sells it. Whats the situation if an innocent buyer purchases said car privately without being told its illegal status, only to have it fail its next mot or some future mot?

  Does my car have a DPF filter? Most of the times throughout the week I take very short trips to work and back home, however  after a relatively long trip, eg like over 100 miles, on a sudden stop my car would occasionally cut out and wouldn't crank up again for a period of few minutes.

  I am about to refil the DPF fluid on my ford focus myself, I'll worry about resetting the ECU later. I have searched extensively on T'internet for some photos showing the exact location of the tank and the exact position of the pipes I need to disconect and reconnect, as this would help with the pre planning phase of this work.

  Drove it from Milton Keynes to Staffs Friday (motorway), Staffs to Slough Sunday (motorway), used it for work (3 miles each way) Monday onwards and on the way in to Work Thursday the DPF warning light came on. Should they be this sensitive to short runs? And what is the point of a car built to be economical if you have to give it a blast at 2500 revs for 15 minutes every 3 days!

  I think my Local Mazda dealer is playing tricks on me. I have recently purchased a 10 plate which had only done 36,000 miles. The DPF warning light flashed up and I went to my local dealer immediately. I will say at this point I know very little about the technical matters! So my car was serviced, but the next day the DPF light and service reminder were now both flashing.

  If you have a new diesel car on the motability scheme and your DPF filter clogs up because you only drive locally and can't be cleared on a long run meaning a trip to the dealer who will foot the bill? If it is a manufacturer's problem then they will but this problem only occurs if you don't use the car properly so in a way it is your fault the DPF got clogged.

  So a couple of days ago I get the dreaded 'Soot Accumulation in DPF Too High' message on my 6, which has just had it's 5th birthday and done 40k. Following Mazda's helpful guidance, off for a run down the M23 I go, keeps revs between 2.5-3k. Halfway back the message turns into 'DPF Malfunction', so I presume this means the automatic regen failed.

  Anything I need to look out for on this car? Ive read all the horror stories about low mileage Diesels and DPF but was under the impression that the 1.9 TDI in a 2007 Leon is pretty much the bullet proof engine thats in my Golf, is that correct? But the important question is how can I be sure it is DPF Free?

  Hi all, just wondering whether the technical experts on here could confirm what type of DPF a 2013 peugeot 508sw has fitted. The car in question has the 2.0 HDI 140hp engine. What i would like to know is, has it the eloyses fluid based system, or has it the coated "dry" version?. I've asked a few people (owners) and no-one seems to know.

  My Passat has had the emissions fix which I read can result in more soot and earlier DPF failure. Guidance is that I should have regular runs with revs over 2000rpm. Trouble is on motorway runs in 6th at 70mph my rpm is just below 2000rpm. So do I have to change down? How far for?

  Someone please help, I have a focus 1.6 tdci 55 plate Car has been in limp mode for a while, I have cleaned the dpf out, But the car won't do a re gen by itself and won't do a static re gen car has come up with 3 fault codes P242F dpf accumulation of ash (but cleaned dpf) 2. P2585 fuel additive control module ) have filed up eolys tank but light still on maybe sensor problem???

  Hi, Have a 307 estate 110 hdi with fault codes 1447, 1448 +1537 stored in engine ECU together with all usuall DPF blocked symptems. Also have fault code 8332 stored in additive ECU. The additive level in the tank is about 2 3rds full and both magnets are present on the filler cap. Using a friends scanner the DPF shows a soot loading of 24?
