Honda previews adventure-style scooter in new video
Honda has previewed a new take on the scooter in a teaser video. It gets an easy-to-use, clutchless transmission, but has off-road bike styling, including high ground clearance and knobbly tyres. It is expected to go on sale in 2017.
It's not clear what the new model will be called, but it was first previewed in 2015 as the City Adventure Concept. Underneath the curious dirtbike-cum-scooter bodywork are the underpinnings of the popular NC750 motorcycle and the Integra scooter - specifically a torquey, 54PS parallel twin engine with a DCT automatic transmission.
Quite how much it will cost when it goes on sale in 2017 remains to be seen, but we imagine you’ll have to pay a premium over the £8,150 price of an Integra. It might not be a typical cheap urban runabout, but it’s nonetheless one of the most interesting scooters of recent years.
