2026 Kia K4 Sportswagon
- Estate version of Kia K4 hatchback
- 604-litre boot
- Petrol and mild-hybrid power choices
- Full hybrid to follow
Kia has followed up its new Ceed replacement, the K4 hatchback, with an estate model. The Kia K4 Sportswagon will be available later this year, with a 604-litre boot (more on that in a moment) and a choice of petrol or mild-hybrid power. A full-hybrid model will follow later in 2026.
Much of the K4 Sportswagon is a mirror of the hatchback, but from the rear seats backwards there's a larger cargo space. Depending on how you look at it, the K4 is a big C-segment car (see the Volkswagen Golf), or a small D-segment car (like the BMW 3 Series) – its dimensions put it in the middle.
That means when it arrives it should be a temptation for myriad customers looking for something stylish but spacious. While the market has fully embraced SUVs, there's still a solid demand for estate cars. The likes of the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports, the Skoda Octavia Estate and the Peugeot 308 SW have all been put on notice.
2026 Kia K4 Sportswagon price and release date

We don't have a UK release date or price for the Kia K4 Sportswagon yet, but we do know it'll be released this year. The K4 hatchback starts at just over £26,000, so expect a small premium for the estate – around £27,000 seems likely, which would undercut several close rivals.
2026 Kia K4 Sportswagon styling, interior and technology

Unsurprisingly, the styling of the Kia K4 Sportswagon is very similar to that of the K4 hatchback, with Kia's "Star Map" lighting signature, and hidden rear door handles for a sleeker look. There will be a GT-Line model with a sportier bodykit, including gloss black wheel-arch cladding.
But the Sportswagon is longer at 4695mm (versus around 4440mm for the hatchback) with a longer roofline and, of course, has a larger boot at 604 litres – up 166 on the cargo area in the hatchback. There's also a powered boot lid, which you don't get on the hatchback.
However, if you opt for a mild-hybrid engine, your boot space drops considerably to 482 litres, presumably because of the need to store the extra components.
Fold down the back seats and the boot space expands to 1217 litres in the petrol models and 1107 litres in the mild-hybrids.
In the cabin, it's broadly K4-as-usual, with three infotainment and climate info screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and, on higher-spec models, Harman Kardon sound. UK specs haven't been announced yet, so we don't know for sure what features will be on what models.
2026 Kia K4 Sportswagon engines, performance and fuel economy

The entry-level engine for the front-wheel-drive Kia K4 Sportswagon is the petrol-powered 1.0 T-GDI with 115PS, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. It's also available with a mild-hybrid system, which has a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and has improved efficiency.
There's also a 1.6-litre T-GDI petrol engine, with two states of tune – 150PS or 180PS – both with a seven-speed automatic.
A full-hybrid model will follow later in 2026. No plug-in hybrid or electric models have been announced as yet.
