Kia reveals new petrol-powered Seltos SUV
- New small SUV heads to UK in 2026
- Similar size to EV3 but petrol-powered
- Optional all-wheel drive for light off-roading capability
- Three engine options, with a hybrid to follow
Kia has pulled back the covers on the new Kia Seltos, which has been confirmed for a UK launch in 2026.
While the Seltos' looks are inspired by the latest Kia electric vehicles, it will be petrol-powered, with three engine options confirmed and a hybrid model to follow. Kia says the car blends the look of previous combustion-engined SUVs with the more futuristic stylings of its EV range.
The exterior features Kia's 'Star Map' daytime running-light designs and flush door handles for added aerodynamic efficiency. X-Line and GT-Line will be among the trims offered, at least in some markets – UK specs have yet to be confirmed.
The Seltos will be a new name badge for the UK, although it's been used in other markets since 2019 and would be the second-generation car to have that title. It sits between the Kia Stonic and the Kia Sportage in size, roughly aligned with the Kia Niro and the electric Kia EV3.
2026 Kia Seltos price and release date

Prices and specs for the new Kia Seltos have yet to be confirmed – we'll find out more early next year. What we do know is that India will be the first market to get the new car this month, followed by Korea, North America, Europe and China in 2026.
2026 Kia Seltos styling, interior and technology

At 4430mm long, 1830mm wide and 1600mm high, the Seltos sits between the Niro and the Sportage in Kia's line-up. There are new paint colours including Iceberg Green and matt Magma Red, as well as Gravity Grey.
Depending on the spec, the Seltos will ride on 16-inch to 19-inch wheels.
Inside, the Kia Seltos will be available with a head-up display on the low dashboard, as well as a panoramic sunroof, audio systems from Harman Kardon and Bose and a 100W USB charger. There'll be a 64-colour mood lighting system, too.
Kia promises a 536-litre boot with the back seats raised, but hasn't released the seat-down space yet. The back seats will recline, at least on certain models.
2026 Kia Seltos engines, performance and fuel economy

Kia has so far announced three engine options for the Seltos, although it's not yet clear which are coming to the UK.
The range starts with a 2.0-litre petrol engine with 149PS and 179Nm of torque and is followed by a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine available in two outputs.
The standard version has 180PS and 265Nm of torque, available with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox or a six-speed manual. The more powerful model has 193PS and an eight-speed automatic.
Performance stats and fuel economy figures haven't been announced. Kia has also said a hybrid option will follow in 2026, but we'll have to wait for more details.
