Kia teases new petrol-powered Seltos SUV

  • New small SUV could head to UK in 2026
  • Similar size to EV3 but petrol-powered
  • Due for reveal on 10 December

This is our first glimpse of the forthcoming new Kia Seltos, which is due for a full reveal later this month. Although not confirmed, it could be headed to the UK in 2026.

While the Seltos' looks are inspired by the latest Kia electric vehicles, it'll be petrol powered – the details haven't been announced, but we'd expect various hybrid options, too. Kia says the car blends the look of previous combustion-engined SUVs with the more futuristic stylings of its EV range.

Few details have been released yet, but we can expect Kia's "Star Map" daytime running-light designs and flush door handles for added aerodynamic efficiency. X-Line and GT-Line will be among the trims offered, at least in some markets.

The Seltos would be a new name badge for the UK, although it's been used in other markets since 2019 and would be the second-generation car to have that title. It sits between the Stonic and the Sportage in size, roughly aligned with the Niro and the electric EV3. If the new Kia Seltos does come to our shores, it's not yet clear whether it would be sold alongside the Niro, or replace it.
