Kia teases the new EV2 electric small SUV
- New small electric SUV
- Reveal on 9 January 2026
- Will rival Renault 4, VW ID.Polo and more
- GT versions of EV3, EV4 and EV5 also promised
This is our first proper (sort of) look at the new Kia EV2, the smallest of Kia's rapidly expanding electric range. Due for a full reveal after the new year, the small SUV will be a rival for other the likes of the Renault 4, the Volkswagen ID.Polo and the Skoda Epiq.
Little has been confirmed about the Kia EV2 yet, save for the sillhouette and masked light signatures shown in the teaser images. We can expect a similar look to other Kia EVs – a design philosophy that Kia calls "Opposites United". The production car's arrival follows the reveal of the Concept EV2 back in April, which would seem to give a very good idea of what the finished product will look like.
The production Kia EV2 will be revealed in full at January's Brussels Motor Show in Belgium, which will also see Kia show off new sporty GT versions of the Kia EV3, the Kia EV4 hatchback and the Kia EV5.
2026 Kia EV2 prices and release date

No pricing or firm release date has been announced yet, but we know that the covers will be drawn back from the EV2 on 9 January 2026 during the Brussels Motor Show. We know that it will go on sale during 2026, likely with a starting price in the mid-to-high £20k range.
2026 Kia EV2 styling interior and technology
While we haven't seen undisguised shots of the production Kia EV2 yet, the EV2 Concept car revealed earlier this year gives us a very good idea of what it will look like, with similar design features to other Kia EVs. The teaser images confirm almost identical head- and taillight designs and a similar silhouette.
Inside, we're expecting a spacious cabin for the size and there may be a production version of the fancy folding and sliding rear bench seats seen in the concept car. We won't seen the concept's rear-hinged doors, however.
Tech-wise, the latest Kia infotainment system should be present and will feature both Vehicle to Load (V2L) and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) systems to charge external appliances and send power back to the electric grid.
2026 Kia EV2 motors, batteries and range

Kia hasn't announced the power options for the Kia EV2 yet. But as it's based on the same platform as the larger Kia EV3 we'd expect it to feature that car's 58kWh battery, which will give a range of around 300 miles. There may be a smaller battery too. More details will be announced at the car's reveal.
When does the Kia EV2 go on sale?
No firm release date has yet been announced, but we'll hear more after the car's unveiling on 9 January 2026.
How big is the Kia EV2?
No official dimensions have been revealed by Kia yet, but as it is what's known as a B-segment SUV, it will likely be under four metres long and two metres wide.
What's the Kia EV2's battery range?
No battery information has been released yet, but we'd expect the EV2 to manage up to 300 miles on a single battery charge, depending on specification.
