Porsche Cayenne Electric revealed with 398-mile range

  • Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric models revealed
  • Up to 1156PS, 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds
  • Battery range of up to 398 miles
  • Priced from £83,200

Porsche has revealed full details of new Porsche Cayenne Electric. And the headline figures are mighty impressive.

The most powerful model, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric, has a whopping 1156PS from its new electric drive system, which translates to a 0-62mph time of just 2.5 seconds. That makes it as quick as a Porsche 911 Turbo S.

The standard Porsche Cayenne Electric is no slouch either, with up to 442PS and a 4.8-second sprint to 62mph.

Power comes from a new 113kWh battery that gives an official WLTP range of up to 387 miles for the Cayenne Turbo Electric and 398 miles for the standard model. 800-volt tech means fast charging capability – up to 390kW and even up to 400kW if conditions are perfect.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric stands alone in terms of its performance, but when it comes to price and prestige the Porsche Cayenne Electric range will be a tempting alternative for customers of cars like the BMW iX, the Lotus Eletre, the Mercedes EQS SUV and the Volvo ES90.

The Porsche Cayenne Electric will be offered alongside the existing combustion engined Porsche Cayenne

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric prices and release date

You can order the new Porsche Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric right now. Prices start at £83,200 for the Porsche Cayenne and jump to £130,900 for the Cayenne Turbo.

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric styling, interior and technology

The Cayenne Electric looks, unsurprisingly, much the same as the combustion-powered cars, although with some tweaks that are familiar from the Porsche Taycan and the Porsche Macan Electric.

The upper grille is gone (there's no need for one with an electric car) and the lower bumper is filled with vanes to direct air to where it needs to go. At the back, there's a full-width light bar and big alloy wheels sit under the contoured arches, between 20 and 22 inches in diameter depending on the chosen model.

It is slightly bigger than the combustion-engined model, with an extra 55mm in length taking it to 4985mm, with a width of 1980mm and a height of 1674mm.

Porsche claims a drag coefficient of 0.25, which would make it one of the most aerodynamic of the large luxury SUVs. The Porsche Active Aerodynamics (PAA) system is designed to fine-tune the drag through movable flaps in the nose, an adaptive spoiler and - on the Turbo - active aeroblades.

Buyers can choose from 13 standard colours and nine wheel designs, as well as 12 interior combinations, five interior packages and five 'accent' packages.

And that's before you start to wade through the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur programme that lets you customise things even further. For a cost. You can even order a Porsche Design watch customised to match your Cayenne Electric if you really want to.

Inside, the dashboard holds a curved OLED screen called the Flow Display, complemented by a 14.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an optional 14.9-inch screen for the passenger.

A head-up display is also available, with augmented reality tech built-in, projecting what appears from the driver's seat to be an 87-inch display area 10 metres in front of the car. As well as touchscreen tech, there's also a hand rest controller that lets you adjust settings more easily while on the move.

Practicality-wise, there's a fairly huge 781-litre boot that's expandable to 1588 litres with the back seats folded, as well as a 90-litre "frunk" under the bonnet.

2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric battery, performance and charging

Both versions of the Cayenne Electric are powered by a 113kWh battery, which in the standard Porsche Cayenne Electric gives a range of up to 398 miles when fully charged.

That dips only slightly in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric to 387 miles. The 800-volt platform allows fast DC charging at up to 390W normally and up to 400W in certain conditions when there's between 45-48% capacity, and the temperature is 40-42 C.

That all means a 10% to 80% charge can take under 16 minutes if you can find a suitable charger while a 200-mile boost will take only around 10 minutes. As an option, you can specify your Porsche Cayenne Electric with inductive charging – a first for Porsche – althought that requires a suitable floor plate charger, which aren't common.

The towing capacity of 3500kg, depending on equipment, is very impressive for an electric SUV.
