Land Rover offers £3348 roof tent for Defender 110
Land Rover has launched a bespoke, two-person roof tent for the new Land Rover Defender. The accessory is priced at around £3348 and comes with a mattress, interior LED light, canopy and aluminium ladder.
Developed with roof tent firm Autohome, the accommodation for the Defender - the long-wheelbase 110 model with up to seven seats - sleeps two adults and is intended for overnight camping trips. Land Rover says it can be put up "in seconds with one simple movement".
On the move, the tent is stowed flat, protected by a fibreglass shell (much like a roof box). When erected, it measures 2.3m long, 1.3m wide and 1.5m high.
Land Rover says it's simply a case of unclipping the fastening at the rear and lifting the shell slightly for the integral gas struts to take over and fully open the carbon grey fabric sides.
It sleeps two adults on a full-size mattress and comes with pillows, an interior LED light and a stowage net. The tent can be accessed from either side of the vehicle and comes with an extendable aluminium access ladder which can be stored in the stowage bag inside the tent when not in use.
The roof tent for is available to purchase from Land Rover dealers or Autohome. It works in conjunction with the official Land Rover Expedition Roof Rack and Roof Rails, which come fitted as standard with the Adventure Pack.
