Kia launches updated Sorento

Kia is giving its Sorento a facelift with a host of significant changes under the skin. The new model goes on sale in the autumn and comes with a re-engineered bodyshell, a new chassis and improved engines with better economy. Kia is also promising better ride, handling and refinement plus there's a new look interior.

On the outside there are new headights with LED daytime running lights, redesigned vertical front foglights and  restyled bumpers while at the back it gets a new tailgate. There are also new alloy wheels which start at 19-inch as standard.

As before there are five or seven-seat models and the interior gets a significant upgrade with more soft-touch plastics and a new LCD instrument cluster along with a 7-inch display screen on the dash. The centre console now has a straight-gate gear selector with a leather trim lever on automatic models. There is also a panoramic sunroof available that comes with an electric blind.

The new Sorento goes on sale in the UK this autumn and full details of specification and trim will be announced in the coming months.
