"Dynamic" Ford Focus wins used car award

Fri, 18 Dec 2009
The Ford Focus has won a used car award and been described as an overall "dynamic" model.

CAP's Used Car of the Decade prize was given to the vehicle for satisfying every criteria required in a five-seat family car, said judging panel chairman Mark Norman.

Jon Wellsman is sales director of Ford of Britain and said the company was very proud to receive the accolade.

"We hope this latest generation of vehicles will continue to be as successful in the used car market," he added.

Ford looks to be rounding off 2009 in style, having also won two Top Gear awards earlier this month.

The BBC programme gave the Ford Focus RS the title of Muscle Car of the Year, while the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic 98g CO2/km model was named as the Green Car of the Year.

Editor of Top Gear Conor McNicholas said that not only was the former lots of fun, but a feat of engineering, too.
