Mini to take centre stage at Goodwood Revival

Mon, 10 Aug 2009
Brits who always opt for Minis when buying a car may want to head down to Goodwood this autumn.

Organisers of the annual Revival have announced the vehicle will play a central role in the 2009 festivities.

They explained as it is the auto's 50th anniversary, they thought it was fitting to pay a tribute to the diminutive model.

As a result, there will be a parade of Minis every day, including versions that have been turned into ice cream vans and Wildgoose camping vehicles.

Organisers claimed: "It promises to be a real spectacle not to be missed."

The St Mary's Trophy saloon car race will also exclusively feature pre-1966 Mini Coopers.
"A full 30-car grid of 1275cc Mini Coopers will contest what is sure to be the most closely-fought race in the Revival's history," organisers claimed.

The event is scheduled for September 18th, 19th and 20th.

Meanwhile, the Italian marque Alfa Romeo is to be the featured manufacturer at the 2010 edition of Race Retro.
