Sporty Seat to spice up "dowdy" car sector

Mon, 06 Apr 2009
Motorists planning on buying a car next year may be tempted by the latest offering from Seat.

The Ibiza ST is due to arrive in showrooms in 2010 and will be the third vehicle in that particular range.

Following in the tyre tracks of the five-door and SC editions of the car, the new supermini estate has been described by the company as offering excellent levels of practicality, style and comfort.

It explained the group had been keen to produce an exciting model in what is typically a "dowdy market sector".

Peter Wyhinny, head of Seat in the UK, said: "The addition of a great-looking, sporty and practical Ibiza ST to our fastest-growing range is a very exciting development."

He predicted the new model would gain a broad following in Britain and added he was very much looking forward to its arrival next year.

In other motoring news, the existing two members of the Ibiza line-up recently won Red Dot design accolades.
