Naked commuters promote new car

Fri, 24 Apr 2009
Commuters in London may have been surprised to see 308 naked individuals milling among them earlier this week.

Peugeot organised the spectacle in a bid to encourage motorists thinking about buying a car to consider its upcoming 308 Coupe Cabriolet (308CC) model.

In fact, the people in question were not actually nude but wearing naked bodysuits.

The car being promoted by the stunt has been available to order since April 1st and the manufacturer claimed it had already generated a high number of enquiries.

Peugeot added the model was worthy of the attention it is receiving because it offers an outstanding motoring experience and has also received a five-star Euro Ncap safety rating.

Commenting on the performance of the 308CC, the company pointed out: "In just 20 seconds, you can go from the refined interior of the coupe to the open-air exhilaration of the cabriolet."

In other motoring news from Peugeot, the manufacturer recently reported it topped the European sales chart for environmentally-friendly vehicles last year.
